I hope it hasn't been, And I hope the new manager has an authoritarian streak and comes in and kicks them all up the arse. I never want to hear again what formation the players want. The team needs strong management. They don't need another mate or a top bloke.

Yes at worst sacking Shakey has opened the door to dealing with impossible situations namely those responsible for awful recruitment and a clique of players who are in the way of progress. Let's hope that the owners don't stop at the first step.

Nice to see the OS are up to speed.

What concerns me is that a few years ago every website and newspaper said that Pearson was sacked...

No doubt he’ll be the new Assistant Manager at OH Leuven.

Leicester City Parts Company With Craig Shakespeare
Leicester City Football Club has today (Tuesday) parted company with its First Team Manager, Craig Shakespeare.

Michael Appleton will be in charge of the First Team as Caretaker Manager for Saturday’s Premier League trip to Swansea City, supported by First Team Coaches Mike Stowell and Adam Sadler.

Leicester City Vice Chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha said: “Craig has been a great servant to Leicester City – during his spells as an Assistant Manager and since taking over as Manager in challenging circumstances in February. His dedication to the Club and to his work has been absolute and the contribution he made to the most successful period in Leicester City history is considerable.

“However, our early promise under Craig’s management has not been consistently evident in the months since and the Board feels that, regrettably, a change is necessary to keep the Club moving forward – consistent with the long-term expectations of our supporters, Board and owners.

“Craig is and will remain a very popular, respected figure at Leicester City and will be welcome back at King Power Stadium in future, both professionally and as a friend of the Club.”

The Club will now begin the process of identifying and appointing its next First Team Manager and will make no further comment on the process until the appropriate time.

I can sleep well tonight now.

I am sad for him as he seems a decent bloke. However, the failure to win against poor quality players at Bournemouth and home to West Brom were unacceptable.

It may be that Stone Cold Mike Appleton regrets leaving Oxford for the Premier League.

Did Harry have a relegation clause in his contract?Would Hull profit from sell on bonuses?
Genuine cause for concern.Could there have been a conspiracy to make you so hopeless thus far?
Really feel for you guys.Stay strong.

Or, with him in charge, we'll go on a winning run and he'll be given the job until the end of the season. Then given a three year contract next summer, only to be sacked a few months later.

Football is a funny business. In other sectors a replacement would have been lined up. I can well believe, for once, Rob Tanner's assertion that no one is yet identified to be slotted in. The owners have acted right in this instance but LCFC is a total mess; a disaster in process - with a group of players thinking that they run the show along with the inept ' suits'. Poor Shakey wasn't up to it but he didn't have much of a chance against this background. A couple of wins and it could suit the real villains of the piece to push for Appleton. Another potentially weak manager would probably suit them fine.

A quote from the Daily Mail article in another thread:

"The move has not been well received among senior players in the dressing room."

Good! Let's hope they give the next bloke the support he needs to sort them out.

I'm assuming Shakey will be compensated generously.

Is it bad that I'm not feeling too bad about all of this? Winning that big shiny thing has really taken the edge off of football for me.

Sad to see him leave after his contribution to our recent success but at same time it was clear that the move into management at this level was a step too far and he was so far out of his depth.

Hopefully the beginning of sweeping changes throughout the club and a chance to build a new legacy

Is there anyone available who's a complete bastard? Someone who'll come into the dressing room & say " I don't give 2 shits what any of you want. You'll eat what i tell you, play the formation I tell you or you can **** off. & btw...if you think anyone remotely decent will want to buy you on the back of the shite you've been serving up lately, well good luck with that. Now shut your holes & get on that ****ing training pitch. You're a bastard shambles" If so sign him up now as it's the only way forward. If these slacking ****s want to play Billy Big Bollocks they can do it on the ****ing pitch not in the dressing room. All of this has just revealed them to be small time wankers letting one big achievement go to their heads. Reminds me of all those 60s/70s rock stars that made shitloads of money & bought country estates so they could go hunting shooting & fishing to try & mimic the upper classes. ****ing pathetic.

Wow. Do you need a lie down or some ACE inhibitors after that?
