Not quite, I lived in Essex for 5 or 6 years and had to work a lot of Saturdays so went without. I moved back to Leicestershire about 4 years ago and as a result this is my 4th ticket in a row and didn't qualify for the additional bonus. I did renew early and got a discount but not the extra loyalty discount thingy.

So there

but everyone got 5% off as long as they renewed before the 15th of may :102:

arent you in the family stand melt's because it should have cost £318 :102:

i mite be wrong but don't think so

So you paid £335 - 5% then for a seat in the Family Stand. That's not £335.

I am not obbsessed by the odd pound. My point wasn't about the price of the ticket, it was about the fact I buy 2 of them and contribute. I don't care how much it costs, that isn't the point.

I do understand you sticking your tongue out at me as factually, I was wrong.

But, that wasn't the topic of my post, so there

I know it wasn't the main topic of the post, but I only had time for a quick reply at that time. I will now answer the main topic of your post.

Me too, but sponsorship is a 2 way thing. I am not in the habit of shelling out money for a warm glow.

I shell out £335 each year on a season ticket, + merchandise money and away tickets every now and again and that is more than enough for any private individual to contribute to a club. Sponsorship is for businesses.

I am considering sponsoring one myself as a business and seeing my company in the programme each week gives me a brighter glow. Selfish, yes probabaly, but that's sponsorship.

Yes, but I think you are talking about a different thing here. If a business is putting a pile of money into a sponsorship deal, it wants that money to be working for it. It wants it to be tax-deductible; it wants it to give the business some prominence, just as it would have done if it had gone straight into an advertising campaign; it wants to get a decent seat at the end of season bash in order to do a bit of networking.

But what we are talking about here (in relation to TB sponsoring an academy student) is of a group of people putting in a small sum that they have decided that they can afford to do something good for something/somebody else - in much the same way as you divest yourself of your small change when somebody rattles a collecting box in front of you as you leave TESCO. No reward is being sought - and if TB gets a few more active members and Jeff gets a few more clicks, then all to the good.

For the record, I didn't stick my tongue out at you because your were wrong; the usual trill to a pedantic statement of mine would more usually be a ;) or a :icon_wink . The reason I stuck my tongue out at you was that you had just stuck yours out at me - NAAH!

Like you, I have to go now and haven't got time for a decent reply.

So , will have to do for now
