Nugent has had it imo

Vardy, Austin, Okazaki, Ulloa and Kramaric

Fed by Hammond, Drinkwater and King.......

I think we now know why Pearson did fall out with Top.

He did not want to splash the cash.

Top said money was there last year but he never spent it.

Seems to me European football is their aim.

Who's doing all the transfer bids/offers/negotiations/dealings then? Ahead of a manager coming in it seems strange?

Leicester City
Leicester have a team of technical scouts watching games via Wyscout, which provides access to videos and statistics of players all over the world, as well as talent spotters on the ground at home and overseas – all of which seems unlikely to change in the wake of Nigel Pearson’s sacking. As things stand Steve Walsh, the joint assistant manager and head of recruitment, views the lists of recommendations submitted and in consultation with the manager and Jon Rudkin, the director of football, decides what leads to follow up. Rudkin, after liaising with the club’s Thai owners, brokers the deals. SJ

We are clearly pursuing players that we have always been interesting in, there is nothing random or scattergun about it.

Pearson was one man in a big machine, people highlighting the players and negotiating the deals are still there.

Having moaned about it, I do think Austin is an excellent player

£15 million would be a lot to pay, but right now they do have an awful lot of blue mongies to appease

*Unfounded speculative bollocks alert*

If our owners feel that there may be some bad feeling towards them from the fans, as a result of NP leaving, maybe they will splash the cash a bit, to try to mitigate that.

Do you really think the board took the decision to sack Pearson thinking the fans wouldn't react? If the Austin rumour is true, and the sources for it would indicate it probably is, then I would suggest, as other people have, he was on a list already, and the sacking of NP had little to do with it.
It all makes me wonder what Nigel Pearson was here for. Other than abusing journalists, fans and other teams players, all he seemed to do here was provide his feckless son with a job. Everything else seemed to have been done by someone else...

Austin for £15 million would be a FANTASTIC piece of business. He would be an undoubted upgrade.

Is that the poem you promised?

Just how many strikers do we want though?

We don't even know what formation the new manager would want to use, If it's one man up top then we look very top heavy.

This.

Austin is a quality player and a step up on what we have already but all signings need to be on hold until the new manager is confirmed otherwise we're going to have a right shit storm to deal with if the new manager decides some of the signings aren't what he wants.

I know we're streets apart now but it's what happened with good old Casino Jimmy and that season didn't pan out too well come the end of the season.

I don't think it for one moment. That's why I called it *speculative bollocks*. Think of it as a discussion point.

Why
This.

Why? As you say, Austin is better than what we've got. If the new boss thinks we have too many strikers then he can offload Nugent, potentially others. But if we don't move for Austin now we could miss out.

I amd

Austin would be an unbelievable.bit of business. For £15m if he has another season like the last then he'll be worth double that in one year. And either way that's only good news.

I'm surprised more hasn't been built up about him, he's English, scored 18 PL goals in his first season and only 25. I fear for Ulloa if he signs though. But make no mistake, he's shit hot right now. Major major coup if we pull it off.

I believe a major reason for NP leaving is the transfer targets and money spending. It might be the case, that because he's been in charge, we haven't spent so ridiculously so far. Clearly the owners have the same intent as many other's in the PL but we've fail to notice it because of Pearson's approach.

I prefer the Pearson approach. I would never want to be a Man City fan. Anyone can spend millions and millions and buy the best talent but the best squads are those that fight for each other and never give up. We could have had something special!!
