trotter would seem like a good signing considering pearson has said several times after games that we give a lot away height-wise to other teams. maybe trotter would also give us a bit of pure phyisicality in cm, ala patrick vieira.

think he's an alternative to king rather than james or drinkwater though, as he's an attack-minded midfielder. i think james and drinkwater are a good pairing in the middle for us tbf, they don't try to do too much attacking-wise and keep things neat and tidy on the ball and give the back four protection when out of possession. We've conceded a few goals at home this season that have been scored from the edge of the area after being cut back (guedioura, marney and bellamy spring to mind), and playing two defensive minded cm's makes sense if we're going to play with two out and out wingers and two centre forwards.

Extend Keane's loan until end of season.
Matty James/King/Drinkwater should be enough for central midfield.

There's a fine balance between competition for places and keeping everyone happy.

Would be happy with Trotter & Baptiste, never seen Trotter play live but he seems to have chipped in with a few goals this season from memory on TFLS and my Ipswich work mate has always said they should have never got rid of him and Baptiste seems solid enough.

Nick Powell would be amazing though I doubt it will happen. The lad actually did run rings around players in League 2 last year and scored some ridiculous goals. Seems to have been decent enough when he's featured for Utd though so wouldn't be surprised if he went to Wigan on loan or similar.

Nige secured the signature of Anthony Knockeart from the second tier of French football, if you'd have managed to hold on to Mr Pearson you might well have spent the £2.6M on him instead of that awful German lump you ended up with. Just saying.
