trotter would seem like a good signing considering pearson has said several times after games that we give a lot away height-wise to other teams. maybe trotter would also give us a bit of pure phyisicality in cm, ala patrick vieira.
think he's an alternative to king rather than james or drinkwater though, as he's an attack-minded midfielder. i think james and drinkwater are a good pairing in the middle for us tbf, they don't try to do too much attacking-wise and keep things neat and tidy on the ball and give the back four protection when out of possession. We've conceded a few goals at home this season that have been scored from the edge of the area after being cut back (guedioura, marney and bellamy spring to mind), and playing two defensive minded cm's makes sense if we're going to play with two out and out wingers and two centre forwards.
