Dear Mr Campbell

Regarding your salary demands. It has been brought to our attention that requesting enough money to buy a new car every week is (to use the vernacular) a ****ing joke. This hilarity stems from the fact that you are basically a journeyman nobody & unlikely to ever rise above such status.

Whilst we thank you for providing us with a bit of a titter in the office at what is normally a quiet time of year we are afraid that we must now withdraw our interest.

Thank you again for your time & we trust that you will enjoy going & ****ing yourself (sideways)

Yours

Very good GUAW.:icon_razz

I distinctly remember managers of play-off winning teams saying they were at a massive disadvantage due to the lost time in comparison to teams who go up automatically in regards to signing players and budget.

Is Harry going to be wheeling this one out and use Matt Upson and Ben Hamer as examples?

What some players agents have to realise is that their player will only attract clubs who could be at the lower end of the Premiership and with FFP rules lingering if they drop back to the Championship, they are not going to dish out high wage contracts with several years duration, even if a % cut is written in

Missed out on 'one or two targets' according to the main man this afternoon.

How awful that the team who gets promoted through the back door should have a couple of weeks disadvantage.

In just over one minute, NP encourages all neutral observers to add us to their relegation fodder list whilst deflating all City fans excitement for the season ahead:

That's not what I took from that interview.

We've had many a year of 10+ transfers and a whole new squad...last season was our most successful season in years and was the one year where we didn't make wholesale changes to our squad. We got 102 points last year and were the second highest scorers in the Championship. I wouldn't be sad if our business for the year was done already.

Yes, but our policy of the last decade has been buying 10+ shit players. I'd guess that signing 10+ good players would've been a better idea.

"You've got to cut your cloth accordingly....."

Sensible responses from a sensible manager. I'm happy with this approach.

Let's go play some Sensible Soccer

Exactly, the world cup is every 4 years whereas us in the prem is once every 10 so i hope he jumps at the opportunity this year otherwise my season ticket is going back!!

It's like this.... We have identified targets, those players have received our offers and (through their agents) have issued their wage demands. We then have a decision to make. Do we, a) bend over and (do a Homer) accept that now we're in the Prem we can expect to pay OK players HUGE wages? or b) make a statement, re-sign our best players and look to fit new faces in to the same agreements as we have already agreed with the aforementioned.

Option b) stands us in much better stead I feel. Frazier Campbell ain't going to be the difference enough to warrant us upsetting the established squad over. Far from it. What will make the difference is having a strong team spirit and a togetherness with a few quality additions which I don't feel players like Campbell can justify being.
