How the ****ity is he worth big money?
 
Brighton are being greedy idiots, he simply isn't worth £7 million an alleged bid of £3 million gives them a 50% profit on their initial outlay not bad business if your being sensible.
 
Not sure I rate Ulloa. I'd suggest he could be the next Martyn Waghorn if we bring him in. Big money buys always seem to flop, better off trying to uncover a few gems. Albrighton would be fairly low risk on a free so a good acquisition in my book.

He's scored 23 goals for Brighton in 50 games. Now I'm not saying whether we should or shouldn't sign him. I happen to think if Nigel thinks he is what we need then we should sign him but this is just an opinion.

But what is not an opinion and what is an absolute fact - He should NEVER EVER EVER EVER be compared to Martyn Waghorn in ANY way.

Good scoring record for Almeria too, although I think they mostly came in the Segunda.

He could add some much needed beef and aerial ability to our strikeforce, however I'd be surprised if we spent anywhere near £7million on anyone this summer.
 
I remember Pearson saying once that a huge part of evaluation process for players is what their ROI/Cost benefit is.

I think the way we approach transfers is that we absolutely know going on what we think a player is worth and will not waver beyond it.

I'm not describing it very well, but essentially, I don't see us being a club to overpay for a player under Pearson's watch.

Surprises me a bit, but Upson has supposedly been brilliant for Brighton. Premier League experience, but not sure if he'll be able to handle it now.... Then again, there's a good chance he'd be 4th choice behind the current 3 centre backs

Just to be clear incase it already wasn't. When I say 'the next Martyn Waghorn' I'm obviously suggesting it will be big money wasted on a player that will probably flop.

The signings we have made so far have all been low risk, we need a bigger squad and to add some experience for the Prem.
