John Percy is the one journo we can believe. Interesting he says there's actually still no new bid though... but Maguire not being in the right frame of mind and us preparing without him for the final game of pre-season isn't good, and suggests something will happen.

Sky and the other press have got their way and unsettled the player on Man Utd's behalf.

My main disappointment would be it happening so late in the window.

If we get 80-90m we've done exceptionally well because we could find someone as good defensively for probably 30m.

Losing Maguire late in the window means should we decide to look for a replacement then it'll be at inflated prices as the selling club knows we'll both be a) desperate (arguably) and b) have a wedge to spend. If he goes, I truly hope we don't panic and get suckered into an expensive, substandard replacement. I'd rather stick with what we've got than do that. Well, actually, I'd rather Harry looked at his options and decided to stay put... but I think the odds on that have just gotten slimmer.
