I would have thought that a Backup centre back is more important than a goalkeeper.
Evans will definitely not play every game and that means bringing in Amartey to play along side the first choice centre back and I don't believe Ward is that bad.

I am not a fan of signing players who can sort of fit in wherever we need them.

I want an out and out winger who has a defined, polished skill set - fast, skillful and plays specifically on one side with an overwhelming strength at something. Or a CB who is tall, strong, can intercept, head, tackle and only plays in that position.

I don't want some guy who can play in front of the defence, and behind the striker but also at centre back If we need him there and he's just about fine in all three but isn't amazing at any of them. **** the jack of all trades, I want a master at a specific position so our match day teams are full of specialist, top of the competent-hirerarchy, first-team, first-class players.
