When we were 1 up, there was a chant of are you watching mardy arse

It would seem both Pep and Riyad are having a mardy, the pair of sulky knobheads are acting like spoilt kids, Mahrez on strike and Pep only picking 6 subs. It's fecking pathetic, here is a thought, maybe if Man City hadn't acted like complete and utter ****tards and paid what was a fair and reasonable asking price in the current market then we wouldn't have this farcical situation.

Instead it us left without our star player and our season at risk of petering out. The actions of both Man City and Mahrez has been deplorable, they have clearly set out to unsettle the player so late in the transfer window that they could then steal him for a fraction of the fee, regardless of the transfer window, I believe they are guilty of tapping up and some form of punishment should be handed to them in the same way Liverpool were punished for their part in the Van Dyke fiasco.

As for Mahrez, a wonderful player, possibly our most gifted ever player, however he didn't win us the premier league on his own, he was a vital part of a well oiled machine and whilst he will always be a legend for his part in that historic title win, his behaviour and antics in recent transfer windows has been nothing but disrespectful and deplorable and personally I have now had enough of him treating us like shit. It is unlikely we will find a direct replacement of his quality but I would rather see 11 players who want to play for this club than see a disrespectful tosser using us as some sort of football booty call, as and when he can be arsed to grace us with his presents. His attitude has been suspect for the last couple of seasons and his recent upturn in form was clearly a reaction to the winter transfer window. For a player who has come from such a humble background makes his recent behaviour even more shocking.

Savage, Keown and Gerrard discussing the situation:

Good and even discussion. I would like to have heard less from Savage and a bit more from Gerrard.

Should chuck him on the transfer list.

I doubt he will play for us again. Even if he does come back surely the club can’t play him, what message would playing him send to the players who do show up for work?

And any way, Mahrez will be too embarrassed to show up tail tucked between his legs. Basically the club has to move on without him now. They can decide whether to cash in or leave him in purgatory.

I empathize with Mahrez, genuinely...but he’s got this all wrong and ruined his legacy. Bloody shame and as a matter of principle the club should refuse business with Man City for this craven bit of business they’ve pulled.

Apropos nothing much at all, I was just checking four years back when Riyad was signed, in mid-January, as was Fousseni Diabate just now. Interesting comparison that Mahrez spent a couple of months delivering 10 minute cameo performances in the Championship, subbing for Lloyd Dyer. Our new lad has a decent full game in the Prem and a couple of goals in the FA Cup and it's not even Valentine's Day yet. Plenty to go at - teaching him to go to the byline and cross for a start - but the future sans Mahrez does seem quite bright to me.

Have you got the volume turned down?

Are your speakers switched off?

Are you deaf?

None of the above. I can hear it on ‪#‎PLTonight‬ FB page but no sound at all on TB.
