The Mahrez Saga

Sky reckon Man City offering 65m plus a player. I wonder if we just get to choose the player ourselves? Definitely concrete info from that source.

He hasn't looked deeply unhappy this season.

By holding on to him we've had another half a good season from him, and we'll end up with a much higher transfer fee than if we'd sold him in the last window, or a year ago.

Really! He's about as unhappy at the club as it's possible to be - and sticks the knife in when the time is right (for him).

Not only is such an unhappy player bad for the club's morale, but he didn't bother putting in a shift last season.

We know he is more or less a football genius -on his day but get rid now and start to clamp down on others of much less ability who are showing similar trends. Incidentally, it doesn't work trying to 'replace' Mahrez. He's a 'one-off' and no player remotely as good would sign for Leicester. Sad but true.

Much better. While they're at it, knock that buy back clause bollacks on Iheanacho on the head and we've got ourselves a deal.

The guardian are saying Sky say the 65 million includes the value of the other player.

That's how I read it ...

Sky Sources: #mcfc have made what they’re calling a “final offer” for Riyad Mahrez. Bid worth around £65m they say, and is cash PLUS an as-yet unnamed City player. No response yet from #lcfc See #ssn for more.

It's not saying £65m plus a player. It's £65m made up of a player and cash.

(Which is still well short of what he's worth)

Have you seen him play this season?
He looks like he's enjoying himself, and wanting to move doesn't seem to have affected his attitude or the morale of the other players.

He's not bothered training or travelling with the team for the game tonight.

His attitude is well and truly affected and I would imagine so are his supposed team mates.

He may have been sidelined by the Manager because a transfer might happen, rather than be sulking by choice.

Ripped off from the Mirror (my bold)...

MirrorSport understands the Foxes' Algerian ace did not turn up to training on Tuesday at the club.

Mahrez, who has eight goals and seven assists this term, did not even bother to tell Leicester of his movements.

It left Foxes officials, players and head coach Claude Puel, who were expecting Mahrez in, wondering what was going on.

It has also affected plans for tonight’s Premier League game at Everton as Puel had already worked on tactics for the game with Mahrez starting.

Puel then had to promote another player into the starting line-up who was previously under the impression they were being rested.

I'm not impressed if it's the case. Massively unprofessional. My initial reaction (if I were the owner) would be NOT to sell.

But of course it could well be made up bollox. And hopefully is.
