England World Cup winner Ray Wilson has died.

Arguably one of five world-class players in the 1966 England World Cup Squad (alongside Banks, Moore, Cohen and Bobby Charlton). Struggle to pick even one from the 23 announced for Russia, today, Lord Harry being the nearest approximation, I suppose.

RIP Robert Kennedy who was assassinated fifty years ago today. These days he is largely forgotten but deserves to be remembered.

1968 was a year of crisis in the USA. The country was losing the Vietnam War and there were race riots in a number of cities.
At this time Robert Kennedy epitomised hope. He believed passionately in civil rights, taking America out of Vietnam and unusually for the 1960s gun control - attacking those who pretended guns were "harmless toys".

Robert Kennedy was murdered after winning the California Primary. Robert Kennedy was the epitome of idealism. Instead America got President Richard Nixon who was the epitome of cynicism

The clip below shows an unprepared speech when he has just heard of the assassination of Martin Luther King.

Surprising really seeing as I said a little prayer for her.

RIP Aretha.

Spare a thought for me n all though...informing people at the same time that it was announced she'd died that Hairy Vag Pie had died.
