"Just Say Nu" by Michael Wex is a good read, a funny look at Yiddish. Read it on the plane back from Ben Gurion...tickled me OY !

Completed 1980. Only 1983 left to complete the quartet. Might take a break from it and read something a bit more entertaining or light. Had enough of long, repeated descriptions of murder scenes for a while.

Once tried to read "The Castle" . Franz Kafka when I was a student, flung it down onto a table on a train. The girl who was sat opposite me then told me she had read it and the main character (K) doesn't even get to the damn castle ! Was gutted.

Started 'Round Ireland with a fridge' the other day. Really enjoying it so far, very similar writing style and sense of humour as Danny Wallace.

I'm tempted to get back to it.

Going to get "Jelleyman's Thrown a Wobbly" by Jeff Stelling for a holiday read. I've got a few plane journeys to get through on my trip, so should be plenty of time to get though it.

reading Mutiny on the Bounty by John Boyne the bloke who wrote The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas

Reading the Lost Symbol. Typical Dan Brown so far, you know it's far fetched bullshite but compulsive reading.

Il get stick for this no doubt, but for the best part of 2 years iv been reading the on-going comic series The Walking Dead.

Its by far the best thing i have ever read in my life, character development, cliffhangers and even the artwork are amazing.

Pure survival horror.

They are making it into a TV series so anyone who rejects the idea of a comic being interesting will see the pure brilliance of it when that comes out.

Why? :102:

That all depends on how well the TV series is made, literature often doesn't translate well in to that media. You may find it disappointing yourself.

I don’t know, i thought that i would get ribbed for reading comics ha-ha.

There has been allot of banter on the official website because the comic is very graphic, but in order to reach a bigger audience they may tone it down. The entire book is also in black and white so even that has been mentioned for the show.

Hopefully the writer Robert Kirkman will stick tight to the material, because it’s really good so far.

Just an excuse for being too lazy to colour it in :icon_lol:

I've posted before about reading similar books before and I think as in all literature there are some good and some bad. You've got me curious about this series now though, co I may have look next time I'm in a bookshop. :icon_wink
