Things that piss me off: people who keep telling us to go by public transport, presumably forgetting that it a) is almost always prohibitively expensive, b) is unreliable and c) doesn't run late enough.

After presenting Arriva with some pretty damning evidence showing how their services offer no value for money, and that it is very unreliable, they said that this was wrong, and no, price increases are not there to line the pockets of shareholders. Well they did deny it. They gave me some crap about it being "group profits" and not specific to the area. Which is what I said to them. In fact they failed to address every single point I made to them.

They still didn't tell me why I cannot get a bus after 6pm on a Sunday though, and they still didn't explain to me how bus fares work out cheaper than driving, after I provided calculations proving that bus fares are more expensive, and this is after tax, insurance, and parking are all put into the equation! It just is. :icon_roll

Bearing in mind that the reason they went for a 10-11% increase on fares because the price of fuel at the pumps went over £1, I wonder if they will revert back to the old pricing structure now that the cost is below £1........
