Wouldn't be suprised with that at all to be honest

I don't believe anything I hear anymore. Not unless Chuck Norris or The Hoff tell me, then it has to be true

Sounds feasible enough, Breen is a decent player at this level, whilst not a massive star, certainly believeable, although it does make you wonder why we are targetting another centre half, unless somebody is leaving or we are going to change our formation, we seem fairly strong in this area.

Something has to be done about set pieces though, that can be the only reasoning behind it IMO. Or like you say someone is going.

Please no. If it is the case, come back MA all is forgiven. :102:

Problem is that is the market we are going to be in for players now.

Why what is the problem, the guy is proven at this level, has a decent fitness record and the one thing we need is a couple of more experienced players to help the youngsters. My view is that Kelly has identified weaknesses within the back up players like Gerrbrand etc and maybe it is these type of players that will be moved on.

Quite possibly true. :icon_conf :icon_conf However I would prefer that the manager showed some imagination (like buy a player from Wigan for 100 thousand) rather than just reach for the "safe" option of buying a retread. :icon_roll

We have Kelly earlier this week giving us the "I will follow the CL vision for the Club" and in the next breath does an MA. IMO a step backwards rather than a step forwards.

ye but he is a good defender imo which we will benefit from. If we let tiatto go and brevett then we have a very young squad, breen would bring experience as well as good performances to the team. Maybe captain??

This all sounds very familiar to Dion Dublin and Martin Keown

With all due respect, it is abundently clear that the squads under MA and then under CL were unbalanced, under MA the squad was far too old, then under Levein it lacked experience, since RK has taken over we have also lost Dublin and De Vries, two of the more experienced members of the squad, and it is highly likely we lose more in Tiatto and Brevett.

This will leave the squad exposed, IMO Breen would be an excellent addition in terms of know how and experience. If Kelly is to bring in say 5 new faces I would expect 3 to be more expeienced players as this what the squad lacks at present IMO.

Hear, hear. :icon_sad:

Run this query and see what we have ALL said about experience in the past and see how much of it is true. :icon_roll

But surely the last 2 seasons have proved that both managers made mistakes and chose paths of both extremes that have since shown not to be correct, take a look at Preston, on the whole they have a young and energetic squad, as do Watford, but both sides also have 3 or 4 very experienced players alongside these younger ones and they seem to have struck the right sort of balance. We as yet have not. Give RK a chance, do not criticise him without looking at the bigger picture.

He was a former Academy Director, so he will give youngsters a chance but maybe he feels we need some older heads for these youngters to turn to in difficult times, it is clear that at present we lack leaders on the pitch, when McCarthy is unavailable we look rudderless, and that is the problem with having too many youngsters. We need 2 or 3 players who will talk and take responsibility on the pitch, this will help develop the younger players not hinder them.

Yes but the problem was we didnt have the right balance, why just because we are linked with one 30+ player is everything going to fall apart, put it into perspective, we need SOME EXPERIENCE .

Breen is a bit of nob, his latest argument at Sunderland, would make him for me a no-no. He would be like Dublin, thinking he's better than the manager.
But Dublin was
