Watford have completed the signing of Gareth Williams from Leicester for an undisclosed fee.
The 25-year-old Scotland midfielder has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal with the Premiership strugglers.
Williams becomes the fifth signing for the club in January, following Moses Ashikodi, Will Hoskins, Lee Williamson and Steve Kabba. He joined Leicester from Nottingham Forest in 2004, but his contract was set to expire at the end of the season.

I'm disappointed we've lost him, and even more disappointing is the fact that we probably won't replace him.

At the end of the day, our first choice midfielder has gone to a Premiership club. Even if you don't rate Williams, he was better than most of the other crap we've got in midfield.
People have often said about him that he'd be more suited to the Premiership, so it will be interesting to see how he gets on.

Horsfield isn't a replacement:102:
Who mentioned Horsefield. :102:

I just find it funny that folk think Williams needs to be replaced. The cnut only took part in a few minutes of each match, he was wandering aimlessly round the pitch for the rest of it

some games it seemed like we were playing with 10 men!:098:

Is the fee undisclosed because we aren't officially allowed to say 1 florin and thruppence any more?

Its not that he was anything wonderful but he was an option. We have no similar style player to him,a player with a range of passes. All of the Midfielders are the same apart from Hughes who is just far too lightweight. You wait til Johnson is in there and you might realise that we still had Williams.
In short our Midfield was bad before he went now its is woeful, you name me our best midfielder

No because they're rubbish.

If they are there and playing, they won't get replaced. If we get offers and they go, they have to be replaced. That is the way I'm looking at it.

This deal isn't a negative one. The next 72 hours will confirm that
