If Megson had stayed and we'd continued with the same points per game record, we'd now be five points behind Sheff Weds.

I really don't understand why some people keep bringing the subject of Megson up as though he'd been doing a good job. :102:

Jeff where do you get those figures from ?

I don't care what anyone says, he was very much in charge against QPR. He took 10 points from his 8 games = 1.25 points per game.

When he left we were on 12 points.

We have played 31 league games since the Sheffield Utd game, which going on his points per game record would mean we'd have picked up another 38.75 points. I shall round it down to 38 points, so we would now be on 50 points and although not safe, a far more comfortable looking position that we are now.

Even if you discount the QPR game (although this would be false IMO), we'd be on 46 points and only 2 points behind Sheffield Wednesday not 5.

He was in charge for seven league games. W1, D4, L2. Averaging a point per game.

Beat Sheff W
Drew with QPR, Stoke, Wolves, Scunthorpe.
Lost to Charlton and Sheff Utd.

Why did I even challenge you :102: :icon_redf:icon_redf

Doesn't it all mean that Colchester are relegated ?

Now a team with no pressure on them whatsoever and nothing to lose, playing for purely for pride. Just what we need

Correct, they are definitely gone.

The reality is, we are still in a position to do something about our predicament. True, by the time the fat lady has sung we may well be counting on other results to have gone our way. But the fact remains that we are not down yet so, like Durham intimated in one of his posts, we should all put our feelings towards Mandaric, Holloway and the players to one side until such time as we do actually know our fate.

This is not a blue mongie type attitude. Get behind the team again starting from Saturday. If there is the slightest chance that OUR attitudes and efforts can make a difference than we should do what we can.

The worst thing of all would be to go down with a whimper having not bothered to get behind our team and in the weeks and months ahead never been quite sure if things would have turned out differently if we had actually cared enough to do something.

Spot on spionfox and respect due for changing your stance on where we are and what we can do to help the collective cause.

We are in the bottom three. Perhaps this will be the incentive our so-called team needs to gather points?

if thats the case they can all feck off now. The amount of cash they are being paid should be good enough alone to have incentive to win every game. They should not wait until its too late

But Megson achieved less in terms of points per game and did it devoid of any entertainment (on the pitch and off it).

I see your not knocking Warnock's achievements since he was chastised by you and many others.

As for GM if given a transfer window and the time IH has had, i believe we would be better off not worst.

Like he has at Bolton?

He's got a team there that finished seventh in the Premiership and he can't get them to perform. The longer he's been there, the worse they've got. On current form they're even worse than the sheep, one point from the last eight games!

What a pointless argument

Smegson is/was/always has been/always will be a complete and utter cnut

Sadly we are (temporarily) stuck with another one

End of story

Whats important is that our pathetic bunch look at how Barnsley have rallied to get out of the mess they are in. Either our lot do the same or we go down, simple as that.
