If Megson had stayed and we'd continued with the same points per game record, we'd now be five points behind Sheff Weds.
I really don't understand why some people keep bringing the subject of Megson up as though he'd been doing a good job.
Jeff where do you get those figures from ?
I don't care what anyone says, he was very much in charge against QPR. He took 10 points from his 8 games = 1.25 points per game.
When he left we were on 12 points.
We have played 31 league games since the Sheffield Utd game, which going on his points per game record would mean we'd have picked up another 38.75 points. I shall round it down to 38 points, so we would now be on 50 points and although not safe, a far more comfortable looking position that we are now.
Even if you discount the QPR game (although this would be false IMO), we'd be on 46 points and only 2 points behind Sheffield Wednesday not 5.
