I’ve given my opinion on our performance, so don’t shout me down, but it is true to say that West Ham were also significantly better in the last 50 minutes and looked dangerous from crosses from the off.

Moyes in.
How long will he last playing like that? Can he improve them?

Pass success stats for tonight:

Schmeichel 58%
Simpson 84%
Morgan 76%
Maguire 78%
Fuchs 75%
Mahrez 71%
Ndidi 83%
Albrighton 76%
Iborra 74%
Gray 72%
Vardy 64%
As I said , lies lies n bloody statistics!

Would you rather he hoofed it and gave it away, or made an easy pass to a player with more ability?
It's all perspective.
As a right back he is okay. Give him the ball at his feet, he is a liability. Has been since we won the league.
Thank you for being part of a miraculous season, but we have to move on ( Christian this applies to you as well)
Claude, earn your corn, because it cost Claudio n Craig their jobs, do you have the gonads????

It's not really 'all perspective'. There are different ways of playing right-back. Simpson is a defensive right-back and most of his game is about blocking and shutting down angles. And giving one of the players in front of him the ball as quickly as possible so that they can do something with it.

If you think we should be playing attacking ball-playing fullbacks - that's fine. But slagging of Simpson for not being that sort of player is just silly.

Period of transition, it wont click straight away FFS.

Many of us have been calling for a different approach, now we are working on one we are all losing our ****ing minds .

As I said previously, it's an ideal season to make the slow transition, the league is overflowing with shit.

Speaking to them Before the game their fans weren't hopeful and were ready to have go at the board if things didn't go well. We let them back in the game and and the crowd got involved that lifted their players

Yes , there are different ways of playng
Right back.Doing a frigging line dance with your hands behind your back is not one.
For us to move forward, Simpson (and Fuchs) need replacing.
Claudio was loyal, look what happened to him :(

There wasn't much different there at all, that's the issue. If anything, it was worse than nearly everything we have seen so far this season. A very slight change to formation which really hasn't worked at all is not even slow transition. It's no transition or a backward step. Gray coming in has been a little bit of freshness at least but he was back to his miserable self again today.

I do agree that this season should be about changing things gradually and I also agree that time should be allowed for that but refusing to bring about any change which could effect a game positively when it is patently obvious what those changes should have been is not acceptable.

I agree with your sentiment fully but I don't agree that people shouldn't be utterly dismayed by a complete lack of ambition shown by our manager today. It's utterly baffling that he couldn't see what nearly all of us could.

I think the problem is that most of the views expressed here were based on the false premise that West Ham are about the worst team in the history of football and that we are in contrast bursting with promise. In fact both clubs are under-performing and having a poor season. So the result wasn't bad and I'm a bit surprised we held on for a draw.

I suspect that the next delusion will be to build up Silva into a player who is going to single handed transform the season.

If we are in transition then at some point Puel will at some point change the Vardy solely dependent attacking ploy. It's not working anymore - but anyone with any brain cells knew that before last night.

Are you trying to change history? Claudio tried to change things. His efforts were resisted by others.

True - but things will inevitably start to change over the next 18 months. The title winning guys are ageing and will go their different ways. Mahrez will leave. Vardy is carrying far too much responsibility as a sole striker and it doesn't make a lot of sense to construct the side around what time will make a diminishing force. We don't know too much about Puel but if he is to last for a decent time then he has to manage change and its not easy with the unrealistic expectations that followed 2015/16. No wonder there was no great rush to be manager.

What I’ve read on this thread could be best summed up as disappointment at not beating a West Ham team who are in poor form. We’re in transition, trying a 4231, fitting in Gray and Mahrez with two deep lying midfielders. It didn’t help that after 20 mins we struggled in possession - there were at least 3 occasions in the 1st half where Gray or Mahrez made the wrong decision on the counter attack which could’ve put the game to bed. Plus a penalty decision and a Vardy curler which I expect him to hit the target. We’re attempting to make more passes through the middle which should yield better possession and chances. West Ham just lumped it forward. I know which mode will give better results over the course of 38 games. Us fans just have to be patient.

I look at our starting line up and genuinely think we have some excellent players. I also feel as though we should be beating a team like West Ham comfortably. The end of the first half and the second half was so depressing. It was like our players forgot who they were and reverted to playing like blushing school boys.
