Back on the trail of Leicester musicians that never made the LM's hollowed lists... Some blues from a guy who went on to work with Clapton BB King and others... but was from Leicester! Oh back in the day...

(is it just me ...or does remind you of some bloke dug up in a car park....?)

I played this this morning. Sounded great, not played it for a rather long while. Yes, it was deliberate.

If you're thinking of Prince and Bowie, the lyrics aren't very appropriate though.

No, I know.
When I played it today, I thought of it an a different way (but probably wrong). Normally I take it as (what it no doubt its) a sneering throw-away 3 min song from v. early 1980's. Great.
Today, for some odd reason, I saw it as someone thinking of dead pop stars as past heroes - bands you used to like but not now.

Am I seeing to much here? I love raucous music. I don't care about lyrics (generally).

Great song 'tho ( produced by Steve Severin btw ).

As I have another 'birthday' to deal with tomorrow I've just strapped on my (bass) guitar and played some rock and roll. But the money's no good. Just get a grip, people.
Just played the Saints LP (stranded)

and before that, some Pooh Sticks. No 'YouTube' link for that one, kids.

Proper Stone Roses. Thank you.
Very good.
