Maybe anything from a big-time manager to a flop but until the season starts and we get a clear picture of his management capabilities no one can say either way NOVEMBER/DECEMBER could be judgement time but all the idiosyncracies he displays says nothing at this moment in time, so i personally do not care what happens at present, I just want to see how he copes in this Division with a virtual brand new side and how he sets about the job of steadying an unbalanced ship, if he does as well as I hope he will, then sadly the wolves will be at our door once more to prise him away .

I agree - I'm totally neutral at the moment. We have no real idea of the funds/wages available for Allen, however, I am pleased to see that we're signing far more players than we have done for a long time. I also feel that the calibre of player we have signed is much better.

We will see when the season arrives.

Hang on, Im waiting to see what happens on the pitch obviously, but it does not stop me from being impressed with him so far.

You learn more about your manager when your teams losing. Can he change tactics effectively ? Can he use his subs in the right way ? Can he alter a game when its going wrong ? Imo that is when we will find if the mad dog has got what it takes.

Alex feels that so far Martin Allen is doing great, and should Alex continue to feel this way when the season's off and running then we'll know what we know.

We do know that they are a smashing bunch of lads though.

He's talking well and making all the right noises, lets wait and see what happens once we get going. I bet he's dreading September the 1st.

You're welcome to put why you've voted the way you have. Best reply gets a fun sized mars bar. (There's a £10 delivery charge)

As long as Mick Jagger has not had the mars bar first

I can't see how his approach can help long term - more than a couple of months, that is.

Footballers are notoriously dim but I have to say, if I were Matty Fryatt and I found someone who could get that Internet web thingy to go to LCFC, I would be a little perturbed to find my boss bragging that he'd got me running around like a tit for a cheap BBQ set. Respect for the club surely comes after self-respect... If you're going to do bollocky motivational stuff, don't point out how bollocky it is where people who have been done over by it might see.

yeah but im sure that even without BBQ set he would still of wanted to impress him. so it is'nt really making him look like a tit

too be honest i dont think matty fryatt would take such a trivial thing so seriously.

Same, better than I expected in speaking to fans and so on, but that means nothing in the end if you don't achieve anything on the pitch.

If MA's antics on the training ground turn out to be good for the team when the real action begins in August then that'll do for me.

so far i think that allen has done well speaking to the fans and when the season starts if he can keep the team performing well and winning games consistently then thats good enough for me.

Bragging about making him do it for a BBQ set is, though. Saying that Fryatt was keen to impress wouldn't have.

Well, if he didn't, he's surely aggrieved at being made to look like he did. If he did, the gloss has been taken off the prize.
