do you think anyone is to be appointed before the window closes?

No. Davies said on the radio last night that the next manager wouldn't be in before the next league game.

I know there wont be much money but if someone is appointed soon they could possibly get some people on a free and ship kisnorbo, hammil etc out...

I said this yesterday but I'll say it again - who the hell is going to buy Kisnorbo, Hammill etc? Nobody (until CL gets another job at least!)

I think we can look forward to "shipping these out" in the same way we did Junior Lewis and Big Trev - ie: they'll sit in the reserves collecting their pay cheques for the next 2 years....

Why would Lennon be anymore of a gamble than the likes of Peter Reid, Jim Smith, Gary McAllister and John Gregory.

Whilst tactics play a big part in football, the most important aspects have to be passion, commitment, desire, tenacity, winning mentality and team spirit, all the things Lenny carries in abundance, remember MON's success was driven by the players togetherness, never say die attitude, commitment, passion and desire to succeed. We were never the best team to enter the League cup yet we won it twice...why? Because we had the desire to, we wanted it the most.

Lenny will bring that back to this club, and if he can bring an experienced backroom team with him for instance Robertson and Walford, then I see no reason why it cannot be successful.

Appointing a manager is always a big risk, so why not take a risk on a legend who is desperate to return, he loves the club and is the epitomy of our most successful recent history. Also he would have that X-Factor, a manager to unite the fans, imagine the atmosphere at the Walkers, Neil Lennon's Blue and White Army being chanted for 90 minutes, week in week out.

Also for the majority of his playing career he has played under possibly two of the best managers he could learn from, Dario Gradi and MON, he is the only candidate that has truly excited the fans (IANGWOC), and I think it would be a masterstroke to get him back, but only if he has experienced backroom staff with him.

Reports up here suggest he is not coming:

The bizarre prospect of Neil Lennon suddenly uprooting himself from Celtic to become player-manager of Leicester City is not going to happen, despite much excitement on the subject yesterday on both sides of the border.
Leicester, looking for a new manager after sacking Craig Levein on Wednesday, have quoted Lennon among their initial list of possible candidates, of which there are at least 10 names.
It is an open secret that the great esteem in which Lennon is held by Leicester's supporters has endured through his five years in Glasgow.
While he admitting to feeling attracted to the job, Lennon let it be known yesterday that it is not going to happen. Moreover, Celtic have just offered Lennon a new one-year contract for season 2006-07.
"Neil loves Leicester and wants to go into management at some stage but, first and foremost, he wants to win the championship again with Celtic, so he won't be going anywhere in the immediate future," said Martin Reilly, the player's agent in Glasgow.
Leicester have already made it clear that any move for Lennon would be premature, as they weigh up their options following the departure of Levein. "Neil is a hero down here and all things will be considered, but the search is at an early stage," said Tim Davies, the club's chief executive.
Almost as intriguing is what Lennon will choose to do about his latest contract offer. The midfielder has been outstanding for Celtic in his six seasons at Parkhead, but will turn 35 in June and may desire a fresh career direction.
Having at one point said that he may return to the Premiership at the end of last season, Lennon has subsequently thrived in the captain's role handed to him by Gordon Strachan, and has evidently impressed his manager sufficiently to warrant a further season at Parkhead.

In all honesty, PFKAKTF, it's highly unlikely that our board would have the foresight to opt for someone such as Lennie

It seems I owe our beloved board an apology :038:. So here goes....SORRY!!:icon_redf (Never , ever thought i'd be saying that!)

The one thing I must say to them is ACT NOW......Don't wait until the summer, Lennie is ready to come home NOW!!!

TD et al, make that choice now, the ball is now in your court...........
