Bought their (I think) first album “Penthouse & Pavement and seem to remember the last track was one continuous groove in the centre and it repeated “for a very long time” of my memory serves me correctly.

Used to live on Blackbird Riad, right at the end near the stadium.

Could clearly hear the speedway from where I lived, I think it was on a Monday night?

Used to wake up to the smell of freshly baked bread in the morning too.

T’was a right rough area though.

My grandad used to take us to watch the speedway a lot when I was younger. He was a Geordie and loved the sport, so we went when he came down to visit. Used to go to a few other tracks too, but obviously mostly Leicester. The smell was so distinctive.

The smell was so distinctive.

That would be the castor oil used in the engines, hardly ever used these days with the advent of synthetic lubricants If you're into motorsports it's a unique and wonderful smell.
