Strange decision.

After the risky selection of South Africa and Brazil you might have thought FIFA would go for a 'safe' bet.

The voters seem more drawn by the ambitious bids than they are the safer ones. Perhaps if we proposed to hold the tournament on the moon we might be in with a chance.

But, England could host the world cup at really short notice. So as long as FIFA have us in their back pocket I think they will continue to go for risky ones. If any of them have to pull out at the last minute they know they can give it to us and it would be a sucess. There is still time for us to be 'awarded' the world cup at any time between now and Qatar.
