Basically an extended trail then

Not at all. He is contracted elsewhere, so we wouldn't have been able to play if he had just been on a trial.

Why would it mean that?

Because with this trial, it appears the management team are looking for a new left-sided midfielder.

This, together with his recent absence from the starting 11, may indicate Dyer is not in our future plans.

Do you think every time a player is dropped he's not in the club's future plans?

I would think it's more likely he's decided Levi Porter isn't good enough and is looking for someone to challenge Dyer, not for someone to replace him.

Dyer is the new Howard. There is a collective of our fans that seem to one to pick on one particular player above others at various points of the season.

Granted Dyer was better earlier on but he isnt deserving of the flack he has had in the last few weeks.

Roles reversed and every f*cker is in love with Howard now. Far to much jumping on the bang wagon going on.

I see the os is up to the usual standard calling the lad Astrid in the quote from Nigal Pearson
Fancy them spelling his name wrong!!! They must be really stupid c**ts.

Can't say a lot about him as I have never seen him play. Good that he is a winger though as I do feel we need cover on the flanks. However if you ask me we really could do with signing a striker. Please Nige !

Bit late now! Unless we can get a free agent.

Oh really ! Sorry, what time did the window close?!

From the BBC
Clubs in the Football League can sign players on loan outside of the transfer windows, following a seven-day period after the transfer window closed on 2 February with this period closing at 1700 GMT on Thursday 26 March.

Outside of the transfer windows, any club may still sign players on an emergency basis (such as if they had no goalkeepers available) with the permission of their competition's governing body, ie the Premier League.

Players who are out of contract and do not have a club, can be signed outside of the transfer window if they are unattached free agents when the window closes.
