Barack Obama has finally broken from American tradition, and will become the first black person to enter the White House not holding a mop.
Sorry, but that's just made me laugh my head off.

Yes i reckon. The US isn't stupid. it knows Iraq has been a strategic disaster which has not only turned the international community against them but has also fuelled the fires of extremists, using it as an example of US imperialism etc. I find it hilarious how people just assume that because America invaded Iraq its going to do the same with Iran. The fact is America knew Iraq was weak-Saddam was a pathetic mess after the gulf war, and the US knew he would be a walk over. Iran's a different case. Plus looking at recent developments even the Bush administration is willing to be diplomatic-negotiations with N.Korea have seen them taken off the US's official State Sponsors of Terrorism list.
With Obama in charge, unless there is extreme provacation, there will be no military action against Iran. The only way it will happen is if they attack first (and most likely area would beIsrael)-and they know if they did that they'd be ****ed...
So yeah I reckon...
Iran's a different case as the US can't go in there now alone by themselves and act unilaterally like they did with Iraq, they would never get it through congress etc.DD, you say firstly that the USA look upon Iran as a different case, meaning they would put up a harder fight than Iraq, so therefore the invasion is off. You then sign off with saying Iran know they would get the shit kicked out of them if they started anything. So surely USA have not invaded because they don't want to, or have any need to.

They'd have the shit beaten out of them if they attacked Israel as there would be a coalition fighting them.
You know what i mean BG. The war in Iraq didn't have the same amount of countries in the coalition as Afghanistan, and the American commitment in troops is alot larger then anyone else-its their war (well Bush and the Neo-Cons at the Pentagon) not the international community, thats what i'm trying to get at.
Which some may feel is more geared towards protection against Israel and other middle eastern countries than USA.
'Dinnerjacket' (sp) has gone on record saying he would like to wipe Israel off the face of the Earth. Hardly protection talk
and the reasoning he wants to wipe them off the face of the Earth? Because of Israel's aggresive nature to fellow countries in the middle east.
Israel threaten attack in 2003 against Iran and their past history of relations with Islamic countries in the ME suggested they would be more than willing.
