I can't make my mind up over the Pepe challenge. I can see where the ref is coming from as it was reckless, but he barely touched Alves, who milked it for all it was worth.

Would you expect a player to stay on the pitch had he done that in an English match? Possibly yes.

I think you're right. The ref needed to do something to get the game under control. Pepe's challenge gave him that opportunity.
