Notts Forest honours over the last 40 years: Second Division/Championship winners 1998 and League Cup winners 1989 and 1990.

They were a very good side between 1977 and 1980. Prior to that they won two FA Cups in 1898 and 1959. And that's them.

So, it's over 30 years now since they did anything of significance. The best they did in that time was to finish as runners up in League One in 2008. You'd need to be in your late 30s now to remember them winning anything.

We were their last opponent in the Premier League back in 1999. They had Carlton Palmer in their midfield that day. He turned 55 last week. This is their 22nd successive season outside the top flight.

Unless they find an owner prepared to do extraordinary things with them, or another Clough, they are finished. Young people born in Nottinghamshire only really have one choice of local club to support if they want any sort of enjoyment nowadays and they are based just over 20 miles to the south.

We're coming up to our 7th anniversary of playing them. They are becoming a distant memory of a club. A shell of nothingness.
