So, whether or not he is offered employment by City, or anybody else, is entirely irrelevant to the crime he committed.
Nope. Just saying, it could be worse. You probably aren't keen on the concept of your mechanic being a convicted armed robber, or the bloke down the chip shop having convictions for GBH, or your waiter being French, but that's how the world is. The fact is his criminal record is irrelevant to his employment as a footballer. If he came to City and did a job, that's up to the decision makers at the club. I don't have to like him or cheer for him or sing his name, and I'd much sooner not see him in a blue shirt, but if he scores goals for our club I'll still celebrate them.
Macky goes in for a philosophical point but there was nothing philosophical about the injury to the lady involved. The Coventry fans who were singing about her did not seem to be philosophers.
I suppose "That's the way the world is" could have been used to defend the sexist, racist and homophobic comments that were rife on the terraces in the 1970s. Would that be BM's reaction to vile chants from City supporters?
I will not comment on French waiters but since the last time I was in a Paris restaurant this elderly portly gentleman was kissed by a pretty French waitress I am keen on the distaff side of the profession.
