Utterly wank on Saturday, as he has been all season

People are starting to wake up to Clemence now. For far too long it has been a case of the Emporers new clothes on here with people refusing to admit that he is anything less than a top notch player.

Rather then repeat the same fcuking threads every time we lose can we not just go back to the old threads and let people moan about IH in them?

Interesting that some so called Leicester fans are only to happy to start up threads berating the manager and team when we lose but if we win (which hasnt been often) they arent seen on any of the threads.

Its as if they take more pleasure out of when we lose then when we win! :icon_roll

Have we adopted the Newcastle United approach to supporting our club ?

Increasingly fickle fans, abjectly negative support and wholly unreasonable expectations of where we should be doesn't facilitate the quick turnaround in our fortunes a lot of people seems to expect is our divine right...

Win a couple of games and the overwhelming response is one of 'Ollie's got it right', 'we're on the way back', ' play-offs still a possibility' etc......massive over expectation abounds....

Lose the next two games and it's time to 'change the manager', 'we're in free-fall' 'relegation is on the cards'....

I feel the same massive downturn in expectations as another false dawn breaks...just when we thought IH had got it right against Cov we meander our way to back to back defeats and collectivley feel increasingly deflated and pessimistic about our future....

realistically though hasn't Holloway mirrored what the more informed supporters of this club have been saying for three seasons or more....the squad lacks balance, morale is low, there is no desire to wear the shirt, we've lost the ability to come back from behind....etc.etc..

I honestly believe he is trying to address the problems we have all identified...and in itself that is refreshing...to have a manager who sees the state of the club from a thinking fans perspective...time will tell if he can turn ideas into action but in my opinion there is other option than to give him that time and more importantly our support....

my guess is that he will replace Clemence with Oakley as captain and bring in more wide options in midfield to also give us what we can all see...a need to address the lack of leadership on the field and to give us the width and delivery Howard and co. require upfront....

of course let's see what the next few games and weeks bring but let's try to view things realistically....to change a club's foundations and rebuild the complete structure from almost scratch isn't going to happen overnight....it's a season's work ...possibly more...let's do our best to help ....

Spot on

A note of point if I may - it sounds as though Plymouth played pretty well against us on Saturday. This was a team built by Holloway so isn't that proof enough that he can develop a team of quality?

Yes, but some people like Marmite on their toast you know? Others' like Marmalade.

Selective memories, some people

When we pissed all over Coventry there were plenty of people on here talking about how wonderful we looked (albeit recognising how dreadful Cov were)

Also plenty on line happy with the fact that we 'won ugly' against Palace

Honest people

But when we put in the most pitiful performance we have seen for some time, the same people are berated for calling it as it is - complete and utter garbage of very worst kind, initiated completely by the manager

But criticise Mr feckin' Wonderful Holloway, and you're not a 'real' fan apparently :icon_roll

I am not backing any calls for a change of manager, yet, but I am genuinely worried about performances and results.

I agree with the stability argument and I really do hope that this keeps us away from the trap door, if it doesn't change him in the summer or, as a last roll of the dice half a dozen games before the end.

As for the week ahead I have a real sence of dread of what may happen, playing 2 of the most in form sides in the league.

I don't favour getting rid of Holloway before he's had a fair chance but managers rarely survive sustained runs of bad results. To do so is to try to defy the law of gravity.

If things don't improve - the pressure will become too great and MM will get rid.

May not be the right thing but that is what will happen.

No Leicester manager is going to be given a couple of years to get things right under Milan - nor not too many others either. So the rest of the season is not so much about whether we can avoid relegation -which should be achieved but whether Holloway gives any sign of being any better than the previous deemed failures.

Nobody is beyond criticism, least of all the manager. Calling for yet another sacking seems like madness to me though. There are very few games left and yet another change in management top to bottom and the inevitable movement of players that would follow would only result in relegation IMO and the complete absolving of blame for whoever took us down. We could then be in the same shite we are now only in a division lower down.

Actually, the team that played wasn't built by Holloway, hence the comments by Stappleton about good players leaving Plymouth.

Very well worded.

One other thing how much more money is Milan prepared to loses ,paying players and managers off

Having spoke to my brother, a pompey fan for over 20 years, he has said MM will do what is neccesary and spend as much as it takes to make the club a success. MM has said himself he will keep changing managers until he finds the right one.
Maybe some of those players that have been paid off could see Holloway for what he is, that is why they were seen as a disruptive influence.

Because they were all great players and doing so well for us before Holloway turned up :icon_conf:bang:

That was then ,but i hope he still feels the same way now :102:

Absolutely.

So far things have been a near disaster for him - I just wonder how well he is handling these disappointments.

This is my feelings too ,and how much will he blame himself again

This will not help him much

It is not exactly the scenario Milan Mandaric would have envisaged to mark his first anniversary at Leicester City.

But 12 months, 46 Championship games, 28 new players and five managers on from his takeover, City are still where they were this time last year.

In fact, in terms of points and position in the table, they are worse off. After 31 games last season, City had 37 points and were in 17th place. Saturday's 1-0 defeat by Plymouth at the Walkers Stadium has left them 20th with 34 points.

Mandaric will be as bitterly disappointed and frustrated as the fans that his first year in control has not produced the progress hoped for. What we should not forget, however, is that without his arrival and financial backing, the club would be in an even worse state.

I've never expected to be in the play-offs this season, mid - top half yes, better style of play, definately... and a manager that can bring the best out of our players. No excuses of they're not my players blah blah blah ... if we were a continental team, the chiarman buys the players and the manager then has to make it work, Holloway obviously hasn't got that ability. If he admits he's got it wrong and changes the system he will go up in my estimations, but not until then. I've sais many times, we're not Barca, we don't have those type of players, we cannot play a 4-3-3 system. It has to be changed, we should not have to wait until the summer to see more comings and goings, then have Holloway say ''this is now my team'' and still end up in the same situation.
Holloway said he wanted a winning mentality, then went and bought two players from Derby !!!

The team who got promoted from this division last year you mean?

It's not the fact that they are not his players, it is the fact that this whole club has been mis-managed at all levels for 5 years, he cannot undo that in 16 weeks. No-one could
