Given our start I would be happy with a top 21 finish

Well yes, but I mean the people saying we should give Sousa time, what kind of finish would they be happy with?

A comment from one of their fans:

"I've been to every game this season, and we are woeful... urgent changes are required. How the Inbreds only have one point before today I'll never know, they gave us a football lesson today, we were lucky not to concede at least 5, the one they had that hit the post, the clear pen they should have had with Clarke handled... the list goes on. ""

your point is what Jeff? They are still ahead of us in with more points. TBH would that same fan have said the same things if he had seen our performances against Burnley and Reading?
The timing of his subs today didn't do him any favours either.

Will do Cardiff. Sousa doesn't even have to bother with a team talk for that game.

Why?

battered them, didn't finish - we're the new swansea.
let's hope we can do overf cardiff on tuesday and start a nice undefeated run...

No Bellamy, no Chopra and no Bothroyd....reasons to be cheerful.

Bit worried about the result! How did we not beat them when we had 11 shots on target and they had one which went in? Definately need a win at QPR as I really can't see it happening against Cardiff!

Heads up. We're playing 4-5-1 this season. Someone tell Sousanne to leave Waghorn alone upfront.Oooh err.

Second half against Reading we were much better than them IMO. Same is true of Crystal Palace (2nd half).

Today was the first time we've played like that for 90 mins. It didn't get us anywhere mind you. I thought we looked better when Howard came on and it gave us another option out of defence (i.e the hoofball to a big man).

At this stage of the season the league table often doesn't reflect how good (or bad) teams actually are.

Blackpool are 4th in the Premier FFS.

My initial reaction to the Sousa appointment was one of disappointment, and nothing he's done since then has changed my mind.

But he's still a relatively inexperienced manager and maybe in the last few weeks he's learned some lessons - and has realised he was trying to change things that didn't need changing.
Reverting to what could almost be last season's team today seems to have brought a big improvement in the performance.

Even the subs he brought on were "Pearson's Players"

-Well except Howard, who I think was a IH signing? Possibly that ginger idiot.

Lap dances can be nice. They look good, and if you have a few they cost about the same as a match ticket for Leicester City...

Both are ultimately unsatisfying.
Although you can crack one off the following morning thinking about even an average lap dance.

Yes, a Holloway signing, but very important to the NP side

Not too far away from my thinking, and he was a favourite of mine when he was playing. But I don't think in this day and age we have the luxury of waiting for an inexperienced manager to learn the ropes. If the club leaves it too long to make a change, we will struggle to turn things around as we know from past experience. Playing fancy dan football is not a certain system for getting points.

After Bothroyd and Chopra's antics, Whittingham's naughty placing of a free kick and only Kennedy showing any respect to Waghorn.....yeh the players have no reason to feel revved up.
Do you not have a raft of new signings who need to be brought up to speed? No? Just us then.:icon_bigg

You don't believe that's any easy excuse?

Maybe. To be honest it was something I was worried about even before Pearson had gone. You have a load of players on a downer and then the manager they mostly liked, respected and had done well for leaves. That's going to be another kick in the bollocks for them like it was a lot of fans.

The start has not been good points w*s*, everyone can see that and nobody is happy about it. I have seen some decent play though in quite a few games. Palace second half, Reading second half, the Boro game and todays game we have been good, if not excellent at times.

Our performances should have warranted more points, and with a bit more luck we could be sitting on 8 or 9 points. Of course things need to change fairly quickly because the last time we had a season full of ifs and buts we got relegated, but I honestly think we have too much to be struggling all season.

I have doubts about Sousa, some very big ones. 5 games is far too soon to be able to say one way or another how it's going to end up though. As people have said before many managers have had bad starts, but they have managed to turn things around. There is no guarantee he will, but he'll certainly be getting my backing for a while number, I'd be worried more if we'd been constantly dreadful. But we haven't.

I only listened to the match on the radio, but to me it sounded like a cracking game, that we completely dominated. The next few results, if they go our way could lead us to leapfrog up the table and give the players more confidence in front of the net. All it will take is a bit of luck. We have had none so far.

Give the bloke a bit of time, a manager needs at least six months to prove himself. Especially if he is changing tactics. I do however share your concerns. I think our problem is a lack of confidence in the penalty box, and blind referees.

Nigel is doing a fantastic job at Hull!! Perhaps he can take them down into League 1.

I don't think we have much choice. We disposed of Martin Allen - let us not re-run the decision - and that hardly lead to a perfect outcome.

Leicester fans were certain that Holloway was an idiot and we were well rid of him! (Wonder what he's doing now. Probably unemployed, or at some non league team).

We do need to give someone time to grow into the job or, like Pearson, start them a division lower.
