Howard got sent off for foul and abusive language according to 5Live. Very silly sending off if so. How many games do you miss for that?

Two games.

Love the lineup, love the result. Hope this represents a change in thinking and that we don't revert to the bumbling ambling side we've been watching all last month.

I don't mind dropping points if we are building a young and hungry side. I do mind watching a bunch of experiences pros phone it in.

Funnily enough, I had mentioned to my old man that I was disappointed we hadn't gone to a 3-5-2 the other week. It is the system that seems to fit our personnel best for me. Provides an extra body in midfield, gives our full backs more license to get forward and gets Tunchev back in the side.

Finally, green shoots emerge.

Reckon he's only got one more game to save his career here before NP has enough of his workshy attitude.

Yeah he needs to be more like Waghorn and less like Yakubu. Alan Young summed it up perfectly when he said fans won't mind if he's playing poorly if he's running around. He forgot to add that this makes fans morons.

Spot on

Yup. Yakubu has made all of said fans (and Young) look like absolute muppets.

Schmeichel - 7 - Safe pair of hands, only beaten by a wonderfully placed strike from Parr.
Moore - 6 - Solid debut, performed defensive duties well. Distribution needs work.
Mills - 5 - Poor first half, makes some very unusual decisions with and without the ball. Improved towards the end.
Tunchev - 5 - Got away with a blatant handball. Not match fit but well on the way back.
Bamba - 8 - Made several crucial clearances and a couple of risky runs.
Kennedy - 8 - Man of the match. Completely aware of everything around him, made several key tackles and confident going forward.
Abe - 7 - More than happy in the three man midfield in the first half. Equally comfortable after the switch to 4-4-2.
King - 7 - Superb. The King of last season returned today. Like Abe, did a lot of work to win and retain the ball.
Danns - 8 - Best game in a Leicester shirt by a mile. Scored one, created another, worked tirelessly to win the midfield battle. Immense.
Schlupp - 5 - Made some good runs but never looks like beating or even matching a defender for speed or strength. A long way from being ready for this league.
Nugent - 4 - Pointless.

Dyer - 5 - Ran around a lot but didn't affect the game much.
Howard - 0 - Achieved nothing, red card was his own fault.
Beckford - 4 - Didn't have much time to affect the game but looked dangerous. First touch improving.

At least Yakubu scores goals which is more than Beckford does.

MOM - Nigel Pearson

Whether he was forced into the team selection or not it worked a treat. Can't really complain after a victory even if it was a bit of a backs to the wall job at the end. We need wins like that to build up some confidence, then we might get to see some more attractive footy, personally I prefer winning footy! Even so, IMO watching your team put out a committed, never say die type of performance is every bit as entertaining as ping-pong Barcelona football.

Enjoyed the post match interview from Nigel. Nice to hear he and Stringer have kissed and made up.

Very good result and the first of what will probably only be a few doubles this season. Sounds like Moore and Kennedy had very solid games which is a big plus.

The game reminded me just how less confident we have been when trying to old out for a win in previous years and was a real nail biter. If we were in front with Sven I was always far more confident that we would hold out. Today I was expecting a late equaliser. But we held out and that's the main thing.

Oh, and the insistence of several Palace fans after the game that they should have won, were the better side, "hammered" us etc etc, are nothing short of confusing. They were dominated in the first half and only really put City under any pressure in the last 15-20 minutes when it looked like, surprise surprise, a goal was not in fact going to fall from the sky.

**** the match, the post-match interview is the only thing which is important - should he currently be in or out on the back of it? Should I be proud of him or has he tarnished the name of the club by getting stroppy?
