I really don't want to have to go into that final game at Stoke and need the points to stay up!

Though our future will probably be known by then!

I have an awful feeling thats going to be the conclusion to the season. Needing to win against a team who need a result for promotion.
Its payback time for when Gary Parker scored that play-off goal.
Unless we come good in our home games, we are down imo.

If you're not very bright, you can be bought over by hearing shallow words without the need for evidence.

Unfortunately, Clemence isn't in a position to verbally satisfy the not so bright.

Football fans are experts at what they see on the pitch, unfortunately they are not experts at knowing when they are being sold to.

Hume is selling himself to the fans, and so is Holloway. Hume is appearing to work harder and waves his arms about in a gesture of disappointment when other players fcuk up, Holloway will get passionate in an interview and appear to care about the club. They are doing the same thing, Clemence isn't.

Unfortunately, this affects the ability of the football fan to think rationally about the evidence. I think David Attenborough did a programme on it.

I think He said something in that program about fans being able to ignore certain comments as they don't fit with their beliefs :023:

As they are both male, between the ages of 16 and 60 and are able, I believe you are right.
(cos stats stay 95% of the blokes in that category do, the other 5% are liars;))

Cut the psychobabble analysis and tell us what exactly Clemence brings to the role of midfielder never mind captain.

I could agree with your comments about Hume and Ollie playing to the gallery but fail to see what is so defensible about Clemences contributions overall this season.

I wonder what opposition fans think of us when another one of Hume's passes goes out for a throw in, with no City player in sight, and the crowd start up with the "HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUMMMMMEEEEEE".

There is a distinct lack of fight from most of them at the moment. When they scored 4 against Norwich I knew that yet again a false dawn had appeared.

It just makes it more annoying that they can play like that one week and like shite the next. We will still probably stay up but unless they can inject passion and pride in themselves, let alone for the club it will be the same again next season. :bang:

Mr Tackle. I would keep your fascination with Steve Walsh's equipment under wraps if I were you.

If you mean 'captain' in the way i think you mean it, then yes, we have not had a leader since Walshy.

We've had leaders more recently than Walshy. Taggs and Elliot spring to mind and even Robbie (bless him) gave inspiration by the way he played.

Could you please deliver the LCFC captain to myself please, your lack of effort, bollocks and desire has got me very angry and I feel I have more passion for the game in my big right toe than in the whole of your body. Our midfielder partner Oakley played a whole half without a fecking clue or a bit of effort yet he still came out in the second half and did a lot of running. You however choose the easy option, every time and the team seems to have no leader except for when arguing the ref.

I maybe an unfit, industrial, lump of a player but I feel I would show more effort and commitment than you are currently possessing. That's all we are asking for, so the next time you go like a wimpy cnut on a 50-50, think again and show us some bollocks, it's all we are asking for. Don't avoid eye contact at a corner with the support of 5,000, as you did taking a corner. This might as well apply to every other one in the team but you are the club captain, you are leader and there is currently not a single leader out there.

Harry

Top notch post that.

If you were in charge Hazz and had to give the captain's armband to someone, who would you give it to?

Clemence Demands Tougher Approach
Posted on: Sun 24 Feb 2008

Club Captain Stephen Clemence believes the Foxes must be mentally and physically tougher away from home between now and the end of the season if they are to distance themselves from the Championship drop zone.

A highly debatable penalty from Coventry's Elliott Ward and Leon Best's late effort condemned Ian Holloway's men to their seventh league defeat on the road so far this term with their only away wins coming against Sheffield Wednesday in October and Bristol City a month later.

The Foxes are now 20th in the table, just three points ahead of third-bottom Preston North End with 12 games remaining this term.

Clemence said: "The Coventry defeat was obviously very disappointing especially after our great victory over Norwich only sevens days before.

"They were keen to impress their new manager but I thought we weathered the early storm. However, the dodgy penalty hurt us and after that I thought we were always chasing the game.

"We didn't play well enough and that's disappointing considering the quality players we have in this squad.

"We set the standard against Norwich and went to the Ricoh Arena in the confident mood, looking for those back-to-back wins that we've not had for a long time.

"But maybe we weren't tough enough and that's something we must improve on, starting against Cardiff next weekend.

"We can't afford to let our heads go down when we go a goal down on the road. We must have confidence in our own ability and believe in ourselves.

"We have to show more character away from home and must sort that out if we are to dig ourselves out of this mess."

Clemence also felt for the 5,000 travelling fans who made the short trip up the M69 for Saturday's Midlands clash.

He added: "I'm disappointed for them as well. We brought a huge following and it would have been nice to go over to them at the end with three points in the bag.

"But I can assure them that we are just as disappointed as they are and are determined to put things right."

The Foxes visit Ninian Park this Saturday for another tough test against 13th-placed Cardiff City.

"We are right in a battle at the moment and the sooner we pick up some more points the better. I believe we'll be okay but we've got to start doing it on the field rather than just talking about it."

Totally and utterly pissed off with the whole shower of them.....makes me seriously consider whether I will shell out the cash for a season ticket next season after doing so for the past 8-9 years. So many false dawns, half arsed peformances...I am fed up of giving them my cash and watching shite the majority of the season - if that makes me a part time supporter then so be it.

I feel your pain. I feel the same myself at times. But then I realise that I probably wouldn't get my favoured set of seats back in the future so back down and get the credit card out again.

It's a bit like the lottery, worst thing I ever did was to stick with the same numbers in the early days.

I was going to place a nod to the half-expected OS article.

Bloody hard question, to me yesterday Kisnorbo looked up for it, dare I say Stearman :icon_eek: - at least he gives it a go but I also consider Oakley, I think he's been very quiet since his debut - I remember him vividly against Cov, helping players out with instructions and looking motivated.

I think Hume and Clemence are both wankers. What does that mean?

Hume was a lazy twat yesterday, didn't protect his right back once against their dangerous left-back.

If Holloway was captain, would he be getting the knocks Clemence is ? As manager he is responsible for motivating the squad and individual players, yet as it stands, he seems to be seriously lacking in this department and yet so many stick up for him ... I'm confused :102:

In fact after composing myself, I came to the conclusion today that clearly some of the players don't want play for Holloway or so it seems. They will do just enough to stay up and keep their jobs but expect no more. Ollie can't seem to motivate the modern-day professional, at every other club he's been at he's taken on a mixed bag of journeymen and lower league starlets, a lot more easy to motivate. Players who have achieved some kind of reward and seem more accomplished are hard to motivate, they have achieved their goals, Ollie just can't seem to motivate them.

I could understand anybody that wanted to walk away. There is a time when it will test even the most ardent supporters. I can accept 1 poor season and even a 2nd one, but to show no improvement after 4 years is diabolical. Whilst i would not have any other expectations than to survive in the premier lge, i do expect us to make a much better go of it in this division. We dont have a devine right to be at the top, but this constant level of failure is not acceptable.
