If the players had decided they wanted to come back out; if Holloway had said they should go back out; then I am sure that the security officer and the police would have stopped them from doing so.

I agree with SJN that there should have been some act of appreciation at the end and that more should have done what Stearman did. Homer is right when he says that there were few people remaining in the ground and he is right that most of them were families - but there were others about who would have had different intent.

Remember that this was not long after City fans had joined in with the Wendys' rendition of "1-0 and you ****ed it up" and only a few minutes after they had sung "you're not fit to wear the shirt". What reason is there for thinking that things would not have got worse if they had come out again?

What would have been the impact on the players and club if they had come out and there had been an incident. Remember there is still one game left where, despite all our misgivings, things can be salvaged.

The correct decision was made by whomever it was made.

From what I've read on here and been told I think Stearman is the only one who truly cares about this Club...and maybe Mattock

From what I read on here, there aren't too many fans who care much about the club at the moment either.

And who can blame them?!?

So they didn't come out again in case the kiddies and the BM's sang a naughty song and cause them some upset!!!

I don't believe it, Boc. Sorry. I think they were cowards, and led by the biggest. I didn't notice any hostility in the crowd, just disappointment.

.

In that case, fair enough - I was already half way home

I assumed that they would have fecked off

Along with him not demanding his players along with himself go out there and face the fans after the final whistle on Saturday,a terrible act of cowardice

i still cant believe they ran away and hid

If you had been there and witnessed the mood of the fans, I don't think you would have been surprised. It would not have been pleasant for either the players or the fans and would potentially have been dangerous. It was the only sensible decision to have made and I am sure that it would not have been made by Holloway.

But Boc there were other ways around that situation, he could have grabbed a mic and spoke to the crowd, or who ever was left in, if just to say sorry for the shite he had shown us, but things will be better next Sunday etc. But there was nothing. I am not sure he spoke on Radio Leicester. It was an act of a coward, a carrot crunching coward.

I just pray this Dowie rumour is correct. I don't really care who comes in as long as this clown is booted out.

I agree...they didn't come back out etc because they don't give a shit

I agree with all of that. There was no announcement that the players would not be coming out - just the tannoy saying "thank you for coming". It should not have been left to the stewards to whisper that the players were not coming out - it was not their responsibility to do that.

Let's make it clear that I do think the players were cowards - they have shown it in their play for long enough now. But I still think the correct decision was for them not to come out again.

I think they are, when we play away and they play good they are over to the fans, when they play shite they are off the field quicker than a rat up a drain pipe.

Sack him..sack him now today because with him in charge Sundays result is a for gone conclussion.
The only chance we have of gaining anything from Sunday is with Ian Holloway not in charge, with him in charge defeat is a formality

But you know what our record is like with new managers in charge.
The only one in decades to win his first game is Holloway.

So we should sack him, then immediately re-appoint him. Guaranteed win on Sunday...

I think if Holloway stays we will improve next season, but I can't see MM keeping him.

I wouldn't want Dowie though, he's never had a sustained period of success, I don't think we'd be struggling against relegation with him, but I don't think he'd be a long term solution.

I would stick by what I said at the end of last season. I thought we should stick with Worthington, or if not, go for Ince, Johnson, or Grayson. Can't imagine any of them would come here if we go down though, but I'm sure they would have come here last year.
I've disagreed with every one of MM's appointments since then, so I'm sure he'll make another poor decision, whatever he does.

Incredible.
OK, let's go with what you believe. Do you think if they had the choice, the players and Holloway would have came back out to greet and acknowledge the supporters that waited behind to see them?

90% of the crowd were off home trying to erase the memory of the whole afternoon (me included)

I suspect that it was mainly families (and BMs) left inside the stadium, with the kids just wanting a close up glimpse of their 'heroes' rather than hurl untold vitriol at the useless cnuts - in which case the decision not to come out was utterly spineless

I wanted to "hurl untold vitriol" at the Incompetent One but after he hugged Laws he ran away down the tunnel before I could get the first volley off.

I would also have to say that with all the riot Police on the pitch it was probably a good idea they did not come back out as I think it might have all kicked off. :102:

But you left before the end. And you were sitting in the quiet corner.
The quiet corner where all the trouble was? So even more trouble kicked off in the last two minutes while I wasn't there did it?

Bloody hell, I miss everything.

Good decision boys, looks like there was some Ice Cream and sherbert being thrown. Could've turned nasty.

Dowie and Mando are a match made in heaven. Dowie was sacked because when he handed his transfer window list to Ransom the majority of players he wanted were past it players like Steve Howard and Barry Hayles. Ransom had already decided this wasn't the direction he wanted Coventry to go in (he wants youngsters with potential - Danny Fox & Scott Dann being perfect examples) and felt he had no choice but to sack Dowie because their visions for the future differed so much. Mando though loves signing name players on big wages so he and Dowie should complement eachother perfectley. And lets be honest, Dowie has always been Mando's 1st choice.
