It still pisses me off when listening to my old Python records when they do a quiz with the question about what year did Coventry City win the FA Cup and the answer was it was a trick question as CC had never won the FA Cup.

FA cup. Like many have pointed out, the usualy cycle is get promoted over spend, go into debt, stay up for a year, get thrashed the next year, when the debts become too much. And it is no fun to see your team lose every week. And it would be nice to win the FA cup, it would live longer in a fans memory.

The FA Cup's devaluation due to the Premier League's fascination with Top Four Finish/Not Getting Relegated, means that people would say 'You won a Mickey Mouse Cup that no one cares about anymore'. That wasn't the case 10 years ago and prior. So promotion for me

The fact that we're much closer to promotion than winning the FA Cup makes the choice obvious to me that the FA Cup would be a much bigger achievement.

We'll most probably be in the running for promotion for many years (if we don't go up), but we are, let's face it, not even close to the Cup as it is now.

So never a tough call for me.

Why would you care about that? It's only ever said by plastic fans who have nothing to hang on to other than their adopted club's glory.
