Whether he signs or not, we must must must not sell him in January.

part of the reason i'm convinced hes going is because of the way he acts when he scores-he never seems that bothered imo based on his body language and almost forces a smile. imo his hearts not with the club even if he is playing out of his skin at the moment

So when he kicked the rebounding ball into the back row of the Kop after completing his hat trick, that was him showing that he was not that bothered, was it?

i tkought that was a defender trying to lose the ball so Matty could not claim it!

For the last last couple of seasons we didn't create anything and he was lucky to get one chance a game. That's bound to affect a player's confidence and form.

Cliche that it is, it's still a fact that it's 70% about the player's mind set and confidence is what matters.

Fryatt has always looked as if he has ability as a striker- fairly decent first touch etc and you don't have to be the fastest player to score goals. For instance Rowley was always considered to be on the slow side.

We can't expect him to maintain this fantastic strike rate - but at leasts he knows now he can score lots of goals.

It's so important to try to keep him if at all possible.

13 goals in his last 9 starts. That is just not good enough. Its about time we brought Barry back :)

He will score goals in the Championship and hes only 22! we must do all we can to keep him.
Take yesterday for example one goal with left foot one with right + pen the kids good, played alongside younger better target man will get even better

We should never have let Hammond (Ankle) go. :icon_conf

Yes beacuse he's learning nothing from an experienced previous top goal scorer who is content to spend all game setting up Fryatt.

As would any replacement

Thanks Newts. That settles that that then.

I'm going out to celebrate......

Newts knew this a fortnight ago. He's been too busy out celebrating to let the rest of us know.

I haven't seen many matches this season and he might miss 20+ chances every match, but 22 goals before Christmas is excellent.

And the last person to get 20+ goals before Christmas for City was .....

.............. Derek Dougan back in 1966

Fryatt 5yr deal????

We should offer Matty Fryatt a 5yr contract at an increased wage with plenty of bonus incentives!!!!!!!!!

Why would he really want to go? he is in top form in OUR team, banging in 22 already, drawn out contract talks may effect his performance on the pitch and that would be terrible!!!

So give the lad what he deserves for putting us top of this league!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
