I will just be relieved when *anybody* is appointed. Once again we are fiddling about whilst other clubs are naming their new managers and starting to enlist their squads. Once again we are going to be left with whatever is left over when everybody else has had their fill.

What a way to run a football club!

No offence Boc but since we got rid of Holloway how many other teams have hired managers? The only one I can think of who has gone to a club but may have come here is Dowie, and he went before Holloway did.

she was about 12 when i was about 18

(that IS a no BTW)

but by my maths, she should be about 26 now...can't remember what she looked like though

According to Wiki (take with pinch of salt) he has a 30% win rate, which whilst not great isn't shabby, and a 27% draw rate.

who the feck would want to join us as manager? In the 3rd division, with a load of shite players, working for a ruthless dictator and still everyone will expect automatic propmotion at first time of asking.
You'd have to be insane to come here.

Hence the title of this thread.......

Gregory is simply not good enough. :icon_conf

I'd be happy to take the job should it be offered.

A lot of this is reminiscent of MM's previous manager searches and the names linked to us. Some ridiculously big names to suggest our ambition and some ridiculously poor ones so we're all relieved when someone in the middle range joins.

I thought the same thing... we seem to have a Gregory/Reid type heavily linked from nowhere each time, and then we go with someone better but who all the fans might not agree with, but can say "well at least it's not _____"

Still think it will be Grayson.

Why would I take offence just because you make an apparently opposing point?

But you remind me now that a lot of fiddling about that was also done before Holloway was sacked, causing even more delay - it was clearly always going to happen so why did we have to wait for weeks. Since the end of last season and just off then top of my head, QPR, Wycombe, Brighton and Southampton have all managed to appoint new bosses - I don't think it's relevant that I (we?) wouldn't have wanted any of them for Leicester because it's time-scale and not personalities that I am unhappy about. And in any case, whoever we get will not satisfy more than 25% of our fans and might well be gone again in a few months.

What I am concerned about is that during the delay, other clubs are organising their squads; buying players, getting rid of players; and generally getting themselves organised. OK, we have got rid of a few, offered contracts to a few of the lads - but this has all been without the oversight of the bloke that will be running the side next season. Unless some dealing is done by people who shouldn't really be doing the dealing, it looks as though we are going to be starting on the task in the third week of June - a whole month after many clubs.

To be fair, I suspect most of the current faffing about is caused by the fact that Dowie went to QPR

And I'd sooner we put in some time and effort to try desperately to convince the (allegedly) better candidates to come here, rather than immediately go for a candidate from the duffers list

We'll probably end up there anyway, but given the circumstances it's at least worth a go

Feck records, feck what division we're in.

Gregory is a no-no. One of the only blokes who make me seriously reconsider my support for the club and watching them week in, week out.

Just not Gregory. I would be really disappointed.

He's a red herring, alex

Just a patsy to make the real candidate easier to accept

Same as Peter Reid last time round

A QPR fan delivered a parcel to me yesterday - not happy at all about them appointing Dowie - reckons it's a very odd appointment in view of the financial support that the club is supposed to now have.

He said he wished we had jumped in and got Dowie first so they could have got somebody decent. I just smiled.

I agree with everything that you say but would go one stage further. Not only are we missing out on adding to our squad, but any chance of convincing our
better players that they should stay with city must be fading to zero.

Yeah.. like Colin W was a no-no and if Milan had ignored the fans and appointed him we'd never have gone down.. IMO anyway

As much as I can't stand the guy..

Should the real candidate be either Larry or Billy, then I would suggest we don't need any sweetners, I think both/either would be popular appointments.
