He took over QPR when they were bottom and he kept them up. He took over Derby when they were bottom of the table and doomed, and thankfully took them down.
And he was sacked by both clubs.

Sales in wet look hair gel will rocket if Gregory comes here

she was about 12 when i was about 18
(that IS a no BTW)
but by my maths, she should be about 26 now...can't remember what she looked like though
Have we really sunk so low that some people actually think that John Gregory would be an acceptable appointment ?
Incredible
All I know is that the story about Colin turning us down broke before the one about MM listening to the fans. Not that it matters now, it just annoys me when people argue that it was the fans that stopped us getting Colin!
I think Muzzy Izzet would be the ideal choice. He was quite good and he's played for us.
I don't think JG would be a good choice. But then it won't be the end of the world if he is because he can't do a much worse job than our recent managers.

who the feck would want to join us as manager? In the 3rd division, with a load of shite players, working for a ruthless dictator and still everyone will expect automatic propmotion at first time of asking.
You'd have to be insane to come here.

Oooh ya. Not the best track record TBH.Harry Gregory you say?
Are you suggesting that Milan, our glorious leader, has been telling lies? Seeing as how it was himself who circulated the story about listening to the fans on that occasion.
Shocking.

A lot of this is reminiscent of MM's previous manager searches and the names linked to us. Some ridiculously big names to suggest our ambition and some ridiculously poor ones so we're all relieved when someone in the middle range joins.
I don't like looking at managers based on their win ratio. If Jose Mourinho managed to get a win ratio of 40% for Derby last season, and Peter Taylor managed to get a win ratio of 50% for Man Utd last season, it doesn't mean that Taylor did a better job than Mourinho does it?
John Gregory did a very good job at Villa, and had a great win ratio. His win ratio's are shit at Derby and QPR but they were bottom of the table teams. He took over QPR when they were bottom and he kept them up. He took over Derby when they were bottom of the table and doomed, and thankfully took them down.
Now I'm not saying I want Gregory as our manager, not at all, but there are worse fish in the sea.
He was interviewed on an informal basis before the end of the season, sounded out if you will. Like it or leave it, remonstrations then swayed the decision making process. All I know is that the story about Colin turning us down broke before the one about MM listening to the fans.
