Refer to my earlier post about Rudkin knowing the younger players inside out, which league I expect us to be in, and the fact that Rudkin took the youth team to heights they've not been at for a long time. FA youth league, beating far superior teams in the FA youth cup, he knows those players and if we are going to be in Div 1, he is worth giving a try.

Kevin Blackwell, Jon Rudkin......

Are you purposely trying to make yourself look like a complete fool or is it just natural?

I agree wit you but at some point you have to stop pluging the gaps short term and work towards something longer term. We tried it wih Levein and his tenure was cut short because of simlar issues to what we face now. We changed him for someone who did a good job short term but did we benefit long term? Dont think so, look where we are now.

And if we were sitting in 16th place picking up a few points here and there I would agree but the fact is we are in the Bottom 3.We are in deep deep shit.
How long do you give him? We go down, does he get the whole of next season ? What if at Xmas we are midtable in Div 1 or worse? Is that acceptable and he gets more time ? When is the line drawn ?

So his experience is limited to youth team football? Agreed?? and you want to put him in charge of our club??

Hollowa hasn't become a bad manager overnight. If we go down then give him the chance to get us back u, he's one it before. Perhaps we might be in a better position for it?

So how long does his chance last for or is it indefinate ?

I take you don't really care if we go down then?

Of course I care but I'd rather have a year in Leage 1 and then steady progress up the Championship than fannying around in the bottom half indefinatley.

I dont want us to go down but I'd rather do that if it's for the longer term good.

Its certainly longer than the few months he had so far, if had all been plain sailing until he arrived then it would be different. How someones expected to turn around years of mismanagement in a few months is beyond me.

Agreed

Answer my question,How long would you give him? You demand I answer yours but then skirt round answering mine :icon_wink

Just because you'd prefer other managers to me doesn't make me the fool ! Not so long ago I was getting grief for saying Holloway wasn't the right man for the club, funny how a lot now seem to agree.

Youth team experience agreed. A lot of those younger players are pushing to break into the first team, who better to manage them if you want stability.
He certainly can't do any worse than those that we've had recently, and there are no garantees that Davis, Dowie, Robson, Sanchez etc would do any better. (Sanchez was seen at the game last night, usual rumours)

a year in league 1?

How long have Forest been there, and its not certain for Leeds to come up this season either. Players would feck off, which may not be a bad thing, the money coming into the club would reduce a lot, the crowd size would dwindle, and if we are having trouble attracting certain types of players to the club in this division, what chances are we going to have down there?
Clubs from the premiership are less likely to loan so getting out would be a fcuking mountain of a job.
We need to stay in this division and build slowly if we can, the next bloke must show some sort of improvement. Its not asking the impossible, look at Warnock, for example it can be done.

that sounds as if you think if we went down we would come straight back up?!?! id gladly take mediocre mid/bottom half of the table in the championship than league 1 football any day of the week

That's what the Forest fans said !!

But if that was the case then surely Levein should have been given the chance to stay longer.

The truth is the current position of our club with the resources and playing staff available to it is totally and completey unacceptable, and Ollie has had a fair amount of backing in the transfer market, so this is very much his team now with his signings and at the moment they don't seem to be responding.

Kisnorbo,McAuley,Stearman,Mattock,Clemence,Oakley,Hendrie,Campbell,Hume,Howard....all gone if we go down. They won't hang around to play the likes of Northampton. So then we have to build a team to get us promoted within that season....unlikely

When did you get grief for saying that and who from?

Lots of posters on here have been saying precisely that about Holloway for a long time but they don't get abuse for it, it's called having an opinion & joining in a discussion with others who may have a different opinion.

Why do you constantly portray yourself as some kind of victim?
