Canada will play a friend in Venezuela on June 1st and then compete in the Gold Cup (regional championships like European Championships). The tournament runs from June 6th to the 24th.

Canada's Gold Cup 'group' schedule:
June 6th vs Costa Rica (at Orange Bowl, Miami)
June 9th vs Guadelouple (at Orange Bowl, Miami)
June 11th vs Haiti (at Orange Bowl, Miami).

should be a good experience for him especially playing in that heat
 
Game is later tonight. There are some serious anti-Chavez protests in Venezuela and word is that the Canadian team (and hotel) are under army protection.

I would expect Hume to get the start tonight.

Hume was an unused sub as Canada draws 2-2 away to Venezuela. A credible result for Canada as they were playing in very hot conditions and in front of a hostile crowd.

Why are you expecting global warming on a massive scale to impact on Leicester?

Imo it would be better experience for him to have a rest in June - nevermind the need to increase his life insurance looking at the names of the opposition.

......and Venezuela is this year's Copa America host. Touting themselves as a possible 2014 World Cup host.

Pointless fact - Venezuela are the only major South American nation not to have appeared in the World Cup Finals.

Thanks for explaining. Be sure to let us know if you hear any news about why Hume didn't travel.
 
One player that did have a good game tonight was kissi for australia. on there national site it said he played woth distinction.

however they lost to uraguay 2-1 because brad jones fcuked up.

Possible injury. Another player has been called up today to the squad, and he looks like a replacement for Hume. However, nothing has been reported about Hume being injured, so this is just speculation. Hopefully something will come out over the few days to confirm why Hume wasn't in Venezuela.

Hume is not injured and he will be available for the Gold Cup. Canada plays Costa Rica on Wednesday in their first game of the Gold Cup (CONCACAF Championships). Hopefully Hume starts and gets a few goals. :)

Hume was an unused sub last night as Canada defeated Costa Rica 2-1 in their first group game at the Gold Cup. Julian De Guzman, of Deportivo La Coruna, scored both goals for Canada.
