Any suggestions for decent places to eat in Loughborough town centre?

What sort of cuisine are you after??

Good pub food, or a nice but reasonably priced restaurant, nothing particularly fancy as we'll probably only have one course before meeting friends at the Orange Tree.

It may be of debatable use, but my recommendation is at least well located for the Orange Tree.

Not sure what it's like now, but this used to be decent when I lived there - http://www.brownslane.co.uk/

Having said that I lived there over 15 years ago, so this is probably of zero use to you :icon_bigg

I moved to Nottingham 3 years ago and have probably spent about 2 hours in Loughborough since :icon_lol: Thanks for the suggestion mate.

And yes its certainly well located!

Softleys at Market Bosworth for Sunday lunch last weekend, £23 a head for three course. Was very good indeed.

It's sometimes hard to know what restaurants will put an effort in to vegetarian food, especially outside of London.

A lot of places also have no idea which ingredients are suitable for vegetarians.

I went to one place I was told had a good vegetarian selection. It turned out most of their vegetarian options contained fish.

A lot will include parmesan as a vegetarian ingredient, but it's not possible to get vegetarian parmesan.

Yea it's frustrating. My wife is trying to be mostly Vegan (the non militant kind) and that's alien to a lot of places.

Yup most seem to assume all cheese is vegetarian.

I went to the Good Earth on Free Lane in December. The food was good, and all vegetarian but the choice was limited and quite expensive for what you got.

Grillstock - St Martins very disappointing after all the hype . Average overpriced food . You can sell the concept of the Deep South in Leicester but you can't emulate it .

How about trying to sell the concept of Leicester in the Deep South? Might that fare better?

Crafty Burger, next to it, isn't bad, although a bit pricey.

Quite a lot of new places springing up in Leicester atm, should get this bitch going again.
