A Win on tuesday and we are top of the pack, then its in our hands to go and win the league.

Good result, no complaints there.

I also have no complaints about Fryatt
today, he did everything I expected of him.

Piss poor football up front. I'd suggest the strikers donate some of their wages to the defenders. They are keeping them in a job, after all.

I can't agree with you there Melts, I think his goals have papered over a good number of short comings in his game. He frustrates the life out of me. If we had someone upfront yesterday with a bit a pace or a better footballing brain, or preferably both, we would've battered Hartlepool. I thought they were poor, very poor. I even started to think we would be better off with putting Dyer up front if we've got someone who can fill in at left mid. IMO he's our best attacking player by some distance!

My post was tongue in cheek.

I have no complaints him because he achieved everything I expected of him, which was f**k all.

anyone else see the Hartlepool fan dressed up as Roy 'Chubby' Brown complete with flying helmet and check suit.

It must be just me, but I thought we were not very convincing at all :102:
Yes we had a few chances, but most were straight at the keeper. We did not keep the ball very well, got hassled off the ball too much and did not close them down quick enough. If it wasn't for their awful finishing we would have lost that game.

Dyer had a great game MOM by a mile.

Yes a win is a win, but we were well short of convincing.

About right, that - although we had a decent amount of possession

Just a shame we couldn't do anything at all with it

Three points, job done.BTW, can I be the first ( and probably only ) person to say I thought Hartlepool looked a more than half-decent team?

I thought they were ok too (relatively speaking, of course) - apart from their full backs, who were truly dreadful

The awful finishing could cost us later on in this league, we need the likes of Dickov, DJ back as well as Ashley Chambers, they might not be brilliant but i am sure they could score some of these chances gifted to Fryatt and Howard, we have different types of forward and it could help us sink teams like hartlepool
