Re: Leicester 2 MK Dons 0

For the first time in years, they played like a TEAM.

That's what I take comfort from, and that's going to get them results. Somehow today it didn't matter that some were tricky and inventive, others were brilliantly and shrewdly defensive (Dickov and the free kick was an example of that), some were off their game, some were slow, some were less good than others.....

It didn't matter. What I saw today was a team TALKING to each other. ABOUT THE GAME.

That's amazing.

Came back with a warm glow and felt this isn't spin, this time. It's gelling. At bloody last.

<of course I have had 7 bottles of Lambrini, two of WKD, 6 large Ice Diamonds, a cheap Scotch from the offie, and six pints of G&T on my way to the game>

Re: Leicester 2 MK Dons 0

no mate, it was literally in front of us. This is my time to be right...:icon_cool

BBC have it wrong as well then.

Leicester bounced back from relegation last season with a comfortable victory at home against MK Dons.
Matty Fryatt bagged a brace for the Foxes, the first coming on 24 minutes when he was fouled in the box by Sean O'Hanlon and scored the penalty.
The visitors' best chance came when Dean Lewington's free-kick fell to Aaron Wilbraham but Paul Henderson was alert to his angled drive. Fryatt wrapped it up when he guided home Max-Alain Gradel's centre.

You know what - I wouldn't disagree. :)

But I say that under the influence of Antabuse :)
Treatment is good, it's moving forward in the right direction.

You can also look at this as "Group" if you like, let it all out, we're here to listen.

Scarby, I don't give a flying fcuk what the BBC say, it seems those ****s have it wrong as well. Watch it on SSN and then report back to me with a big "I AM SORRY"
FFS you lot moan about RL and the BBC and all, and then quote the fcukers to TRY and back up something that is wrong. Look on the BBC teletext it also backs me up.

Argumentative ****!

Re: Leicester 2 MK Dons 0

Gradel won the ball in a challenge, beat a couple of players, passed to Dickov who thought about shooting before he squared to Fryatt who picked his spot.

I wasn't bothered, as I won £140 on Fryatt first to score and a 2-0 win. :icon_lol:

Nice one Hazza.........:038::038::038::038:

In your face Scarby!

Re: Leicester 2 MK Dons 0

Good game today. I was particularly impressed with Gradel and Gilbert, looks like they have a good understanding going covering for each other. It is also good to see the defence doing well. Tunchev did a good job of being in players prockets all afternoon, which is difficult to do without giving too many fouls away. Without havig too much of a dig, I hardly noticed Howard and king during the game, but thats perhaps, because they didn't see much of the ball.

I got a bit worried in the second half for about 15 minutes, when they started to pass the ball around about a bit. But I think they only worried the defence twice during this period, without ever threatening to score.

Good start city, keep it up.

I thought Gilbert was our worst player - looked technically gifted, and useful going forward, but tried to do far too many clever things for a right back. I think a right back should defend first and think about the other stuff second. There were a few times he turned his back on the ball or commited himself far too early.

I was very impressed with Gradel, but I remember saying that about too many tricky wingers over the years so fingers crossed this one keeps it up.

Tunchev and Mattock didn't communicate too well and hopefully they'll sort this over time. I agree with an earlier poster that Tunchev looks like he'll concede a few penalties.

Main worry for me was that once Howard went off we continued to try direct football and Fryatt and Dickov weren't able to dominate physically - we couldn't keep the ball and found ourselves under pressure. We either need another big striker for when Howard's too knackered or we need to be able to change things tactically.

This all sounds negative but overall I'm not dispirited - this was a good MK Dons team and I think we showed today that we can win this league.

Re: Leicester 2 MK Dons 0

Pleased with the win. Splendid crowd all things considered. Pearson did well. He oozed competance.

Performance was rather disappointing. MK were diabolical. If that's the standard we can expect to face this season, it's not up to much.

I was under the impression that we were going to be much more attacking this season but I didn't see much evidence of it. Their keeper never made a save all game.

Gradel was the only one to stand out positively. I thought Dyer on the other wing lived up to his name. Gilbert isn't a defender. Tunchev and Morrison looked slow. Mattock again failed to live up to the hype.

Any half decent Championship team would have pished all over us today. Good job we're not in it I guess.

One down, forty five to go.

I would rather go with that display and WIN, rather than go out all attacking and lose!
You got your leg over recently, because I bet you haven't with that posting

Re: Leicester 2 MK Dons 0

sooooo refreshing to see some compitent managment! dickov coming on really lifted the crowd and hobbs just kept things tight.

i was surprised with mattock in the second half, as he was continually beaten by the same trick over and over, but hey, he's still very young.

chuffed to bits with the wingers and NP could be on to a winner with oakley and king. (glad to see oakley finally pulling his weight). even howard looked strong and compitent, even though i understand a win seems to change opinions on everyone, i genuinly thought that howard and fryatt were excellent!

kiss my face, jurasic park, back of the net, etc etc.

I think the combination of Mad Mandy being in charge and relegation have done something serious to me. I hate everything about football right now, especially City. I'm only going because the Mrs's plans for Saturday afternoons without footy were even more terrifying than being there.

I don't know what it's going to take to snap me out of this. However, I can verify that beating MK Dons 2-0 hasn't even scratched the surface.

Even Gradel's stupid fecking hair pissed me off as he was dribbling around the halfwits in white. Just think yourself lucky that you don't have to sit next to me.

I'm quite possibly a lost cause.

Re: Leicester 2 MK Dons 0

my overall impression was hit and miss.

the hits was gradel, oakley and fryatt.

especially gradel who wanted the ball and linked up well with gilbert.

the defence was steady,to be honest did not have a lot to do.

the "miss"

very worried about the midfield, badly needs a savage type player in there, king was brushed a side to easy, and i no its early days but dyer, unfortunately looks to lightweight.

also on the bench pearson only had kish as back up in midfield, which could easily have backfired

I thought Gradel played well but needs a bit of Viagra in his legs as he struggled with his crossing...too many worm burners!! Very pleased overall but room for improvement and i'm another one who thought Gilbert played well..very quick and done the job. Thought King did ok but probably should have been replaced with Kish after about 60mins
