Fryatt is holding the ball up well at the moment which coincides with the midfield lacking. Unfortunately the improvement in this part of his game means he us not in positions to score goals.

I don't get it.

We looked far better when Wellens was in the middle with Oakley....so why does NP keep sticking Oakley out wide where he is a load of pish......as well as most of the time first half he was never bloody there!

We have wingers so why aren't we using them instead of having a midfielder and striker out wide?

I'd like to see Gallagher start upfront on Monday with Fryatt, he might get the blatant free kicks Howard doesn't.

I was defending Oakley with that point tonight, but then realised that no matter what position he is in, there is no excuse for his simple passing tonight.

Totally agree, people have always said "Howard does Fryatt's hard work" before, but yesterday, it was Fryatt doing all Fryatt's hard work, Howard was a passsanger. Fryatt was playing so deep yesterday he never really got a look in on goal, it's no wonder he hasn't scored in 5 games.

Truly shocking first half - worst than Derby IMO

Was a quite crazy decision to start with the same midfield set up as on Saturday. Just pure madness

Thank feck for Gallagher, is all that I can say

Dear Nigel

Stop feckin' playing Oakley on the right hand side, you feckin' idiot, or I will send alex round with his complete gimp outfit and you will never ride a bicycle ever again

Thank god we took Steve Howard off,we are such a better side without him.

When he plays Leicester are so boring and predictable to watch, longball upto him,he flicks it on in no mans land, end of chance.

Hopefully know Nigel Pearson can see we are a much better team without him.

But surely that's not howards fault if everyone hoofs the ball up to him he is doing his job by flicking it on he can't be blamed for the fact that fryatt is to lazy to get behind him and pick up the flick on! :102:

Not blaming him,but you look at our midfield and defence, they see him as the easy option, punt the ball up to Howard and hope for the best,as a fan you know whats coming and we look awful.

When he comes off we have to change tactics and we look a much better team when we do,take last nights game and the second half chances that were created.

We have allready proven that we have no one to fear in this league,i think Nigel has got to release the shackles and let this team express themselves.

What an awful game. Truly shocking! Should be playing Gallagher in his proper position up front. He changed the game and on the evidence he produced last night he is deffo still a Premier league player. Heard Alan Green on Radio 5 live mention his name on Saturday when he was a sub and in his words, " He should still be in the Premier league" Showed why last night. Made the 1st goal, after one of the worst penaltys I have ever seen taken by Fryatt. No pace and straight down the middle! Scored a wonderful 2nd goal a lob from 30yards! Picked a player out with his passing and his movement caused Palace problems.

Both Howard and Fryatt should be dropped to the bench. For all you Fryatt lovers out there he was woeful last nightn no better than Howard. It is clear to me Fryatt is a confidence player, he hasn't scored in 5 games now and on the basis of his penalty he should be dropped.

Oakley worries me too. He was very poor last night. Why does he take the majority of corners and free kicks for us? His distribution from these is truly shocking.

Still, a wins a win, but it was painful to watch!

To be fair, we still hoofed the ball up to Fryatt/Campbell and Waghorn when Howard went off. Why didn't he bring Yann on? He seemed to have impressed them after his two starts.

Was Berner injured or not btw?

Also i thought McGivern did pretty well, though he let the ball bounce too often which put him under pressure. Oakley was shit in the first half but him and Wellens won the ball alot in the second half which helped turn the game, shame Oakley's passing was generally shit all game.

I would play a midfield of Gallagher, King, Wellens and Dyer against Reading with Fryatt and Kermorgant upfront. Won't happen though. And why did he drop Morrison? Neilson didn't do too badly last night and made a great last ditch tackle, but i'd still feel more comfortable with Morrison there.

Another crap first half and superb second.

Weale -6- Nowt to do as usual.

Neilson -7- One of his better games for us I thought, the glaring laspses in concentration and lack of pace weren't as evident as they were against PNE.

Hobbs -6- Sound

Brown -6- Sound

Mcgivern -6- Didn't get forward as much as Bruno but very tidy and looks like a good option, might not get to see him again if we sign Andre Blackman though.

Oakley -7- Still didn't offer enough width but did play some nice football with Wellens and Gally.

Wellens -7- Good all round performance

Dyer -6- Would have been a 7 if he'd had longer than 45mins, our best attacking player in the first half like he was on saturday.

Howard -6- The usual huff and puff and working his nads off for little reward

Fryatt -6- Tough patch for him, not playing with the same swagger as a month ago. Woeful penalty.

SUBS

Gallagher -8- **** me, he was soooooo good when he came on. Not only did he mop up Matty's mess and lob the keeper from 30 yards but his whole game looked top notch. He looked chuffed to bits after the game so it obviously meant alot to him.

Waghorn -6- Perfect for chasing defenders and seeing out a game, dosen't look like enough of a goal threat to warrant a starting place yet IMO.

DJ -6- Good move by NP to bring him on rather than a target man because they really pushed up high after the first goal. Made a bollock of his only chance though.

Isn't it interesting how different people see the game, I though Fryatt had one of his better games last night, constantly holding the ball up and doing the work for two men.

Also when Gallagher came on he played out left on the wing, not up front. I would start with him out wide and Fryatt and Waghorn up front.

My worry is that we are one hell of a 1 half team. We simply always fail to play well in both periods of the game.

Where was the passion from Kick-off last night?

With regards Mcgivern/Blackman, we won't be able to sign him until January, at which point Mcgivern's loan ends, so doesn't really impact.

Oakley for me can't get more than a 4/5 purely due to his passing all game. I have seen better passing from a 4 year old.

No idea why Campbell came on to a cheer and rapturous applause? Can't remember him being that popular here even before he said that stuff.

I was one of those who cheered Campbell. This was because he may have been unsure that the supporters would actually support him.

As someone who enjoys the good humour of the chants there is one new one I find quite counterproductive. There is a chant that calls for the opposing manager - in this case Neil Warnock - to "give us a wave". When he responds a section of the crowd boorishly chant "W_____r". Thus the crowd managed to do what noone had done before. They made Neil Warnock look gracious and the crowd look boorish. Talk about a chant backfiring.
