We were made to look poor last night and I suspect that we were flattered by poor oposition in the previous two games. Reality check on Saturday when we come up against a team that is in form and playing well.

All teams in this division are roughly of the same quality bar three or four at the top. It's all to do with organisation and cutting back on mistakes. There's no real poor or better from week to week; just a team whose organised better to profit from mistakes.

Probably right Hazz. Confidence will also play a part. When it is high the team has belief and plays to it's potential. When it is low, players don't put their hand up or want to get involved.

I would be interested to know what you feel the pressing priorities are.

A 'fox in the box' poacher style striker in the mould of a Tony Cottee or Gary Lineker for a start.

The ability to press on and sustain the early initiative we take in matches and to take the game to the opposition rather than sitting back and letting them build up their own possession and threat.

The wherewithal to know that pretty passing is nice if there is an end result. Sometimes it is better to be more direct.

All of the above I would place higher up the list that debating whether or not Andy King should be captain.

Gallagher's corners are shite. We have had 120+ corners so far this season and not scored from a single one. We used to be red hot at our set pieces, especially corners, but this season seem to be unable to convert them.

Yet another game where our strikers haven't scored from open play.

I feel that we were extremely lucky last night and all of those people who were texting RL after the match saying how good we were clearly weren't at the game.

I thought the defence was slow to react and slow to clear the ball. The midfield were sat so deep as to be ineffective and when we were passing the ball it was either predictable and possesion given away or sent back to the back two, probably because there was no movement up front to create any space, whenever anyone did get forward they were left on their own with no support and eventually out-muscled by the opposition.

You make good points but I do disagree on the issue of corners. I think Gally and Waggy are taking excellent corners, far better than the slow, floaty, lumbering, easy to clear corners of previous seasons.

Just because we are not scoring from them is not the fault of the corner takers. For instance, when did Hobbs last score a goal with a header from a corner? Also, all teams are far better at defending set-piece play than in the days when Steve Walsh, Taggart and Elliott seemed to score every time we got a corner.

I thought Hobbs in for Vitor made a big difference last night. Vitor is able to take the ball forward or find that incisive pass to a player, as does Davies.

Hobbs spent most of the time passing the ball sideways or backwards. If he is unable yet to pass the ball more than five yards accurately, it obviously needs working on, but it is a weakness when Hobbs is playing.

Also I did not notice Fryatt make any significant contribution.

You are joking of course.

Our corners are an absolute shambles and have been all season

If you can't see that then there really is no hope

Your blind what? Helps to shield your eyes from the bright, low early winter sun?

Just because we are not scoring from them does not mean the corners are crap, the players in the box are not making the most of them.

How would you improve them? How do you think they should be delivered better?

Has your spill-chucker made unrequested changes to this sentence? If not, what is it that you are trying to say?

I may have read this in World Soccer, and perhaps evidence can be posted by someone in a better position to do so, but I think the World Cup stats show that one of every 60 or so corners resulted in a goal. Why people get so excited about them is beyond me.

Half of them fail to get past the first defender, the other half are hit so deep that even when we do have someone hovering at the far post the ball goes sailing over their head

Both were painfully on display last night - as indeed they have been all season

The two points in bold seem to contradict with the way in which Sven would like us to play so you may be waiting for some time to get your wishes.

Although to be fair, he said in the post-match interview that he asked the team to play more direct second half.

I don't see why people are worrying about who is captain. It makes next to no difference to most teams at this level.

And finally, on your first point, I don't think it's that we stop playing, hjust that other teams stop us playing.

So that would have given us at least two more goals this season, the difference between three points and no points.
