great second half after a poor first half. The defending for their goal was shocking. Fryatt and king both poor first and were both rightly replaced. The new boys totally changed the dynamic of the game.I'm very optimistic of the forthcoming season.

A fair assessment. Excellent display 2nd half - 4 wouldn't have been flattering. Keep that level of commitment and effort and we may go well this season....

PS - nice way to bring up my own 1000.

Still joint second. :)

Great start. Half time subs were spot on. Wagamama looks one hell of a player and Wellens and N'guessan look good too.

Couldn't agree more. All the new players had great games. We were all over Swansea til they scored which shook them.

All credit to NP for the half time changes and the rollocking I assume he gave them.

We looked the business second half. Well done lads! :038::038::038:

What's so great about Ipswich? We are making them sound like Barcelona!

Just because Mr Keane is there, doesn't mean that they will walk this league. How good a manager is he? Had laods of money to spend at Sunderland, and created a side that could just about avoid relegation.

Put a few pennies on him being the first manage to leave (walk out) a Championship team this season!

Who are you ranting at? Nobody has mentioned Ipswich? :102:

I mentioned them, what with it being our next game but I don't see how 'Ipswich might be a bit more of a challenge' makes them sound like Barcelona :icon_lol: You'd expect any team of Roy Keane's to be well drilled, I would expect them to beat Coventry tomorrow.

What an unusual match.

At half time, it looked very worrying. We were being comfortably outplayed by a poor team with no attacking threat. Our players looked just like the mob that got us relegated, in that there was no confidence or ideas on show.

Thankfully, the second half was the opposite. We looked bright, keen and capable of giving most teams in this league a good game.

Waghorn was outstanding. Wellens was quietly impressive throughout. Adams gave a remarkable cameo for the last 15 mins.

However, I do have to wonder what the hell Andy King thought he was doing today. He was a total passenger. I do hope he was ill or injured because if he thinks that sort of 45 mins is acceptable at this level, he's going to find himself sinking down the pecking order very fast.

Wellens and Oakley have to be the starting pair in midfield in our next league game.

Finally, well done to NP, excellent management at half time to turn that around.

A good win against a poor Swansea team - could have been a different story if they still had Scotland and Martinez. They've lost their best player and manager and haven't filled those slots adequately. Bodde being out didn't help them either, although Dyer looked a good player for them.

We were ok in the first half, but in the second, we looked unplayable - the Swansea players and fans seemed absolutely shellshocked. I used to be a staunch supporter of King, but I think Oakley and Wellens in centre mid is clearly the way forward, with Dyer/Gradel/N'Guessen/Adams on the wings. King could still be a good player as an impact sub, but today he was completely anonymous for me.

Waghorn was absolutely immense, I understand why Pearson didn't start him, it would've been a gamble to drop him straight in, but when he came on he was incredible. He has the best attributes of Howard and Fryatt - pace, power, positioning, awareness, toughness - absolutely brilliant. If he carries on like this then I'd be all for using the Mattock money to buy him.

To say we were being outplayed is ridiculous and comparing them to our relegation side is too - we definitely looked disjointed and off the pace, but we never looked piss poor and they were lucky to go in 1-0 up.

Did you watch the same game as me? He was terrible first half!

Overal great entertainment, Howard should not be taking our peno's.

Waghorn looks like he has bags of talent, cracking player.

Enjoyed every minute of it.

Welcome back to the championship boys :038:

Well you couldnt really assess anything from the first half of the game of any of our players but dont try to tell me Morrison didnt do well in the second half .

Swansea are apparently a beautiful, passing footballing side. Well they can **** off then cos after scoring a goal where it appeared one of our players was fouled in the box, all they did was dive, time waste and hold out for the one goal win. Sousa was tactically outfought too.

First half was dreadful. Slow tempo, players not confident, a lack of invention and I thought Wellens was poor, he got caught four times on the ball being too slow on it. Unsure about how Fryatt and Howard are going to cope this division.

Second half. Much balanced team. Waghorn looks a real player and half. Got the luck with the deflected goal after an awful penalty by Howard. N'Guessan looks an ambitious fella who has enough intelligence to mix up his crossing and he was really unlucky with his header off the bar as was Waghorn's attempted lob. Adams is a bright spark too. Wellens and Oakley got it together. Brown will be a player of the season. Morrison is going to struggle for games IMO this season. Berner had one of his best City matches.

If Swansea are average for the Championship, we're on for a good season. Enjoyed having that big match atmosphere again and when the atmosphere got up second half, it was beautiful. That's what I miss from Football. I finally got the nerves walking to the bookies earlier in the day cos I realised I did the same before we played Sarfend and then just before the kick-off with Kings of Leon on in the background. Maybe relegation was worth it.

Now to try and stop myself considering Ipswich at £31.

Keane's overrated in the same way as Paul Ince. Let's see how he does without the huge sums of money that he had at Sunderland. Remember his walkout during the 2002 World Cup. When the going get's tough, he just walks away.

Good to hear Lazz.

Do you think we have problems if Howard is injured though:102:

Imo i would like to see more options in the forward line.

On today's showing I would put Waghorn and N'Guessan up front and then any two from Gradel, Adams and Dyer on the wings.
