Enjoyed that big time, first game since we beat the sheep so first time i've seen Bednar. Looks a bit of a donkey to be honest, but it its not really fair to judge him on about 30 minutes after a crap start from everyone.

Vassell really deserved his goal, Wellens finally hit one and it flew in and Waggy got the goal he desperatly needs. Pretty successful day all round, and once again it just confirmed that Naughton is mustard and Yuki is a little pearl in our midfield.

Nice, early crimbo present.

PS; Billy Sharp, you are a diving, cheating, vile little whinger and I think you're a ****.

They only had two shots.

They didn't have a sniff second half, as soon as Davies and in particular Cunnigham settled it was like watching men against particularly weedy little boys.

Well, that (the second half) was ruddy, bluddy good. The first half was mostly cack, if Davies' major blunder with header back to Weale had been converted, I doubt we'd have got back into it. Abe constantly mishitting passes which were Donny's only creative opportunities. God knows what the pen was for, but thanks ref.

Second half, as awesome as the scoreline suggested. Wellens stepped up yet again. The full backs and Vitor pushed forward on the slightest gap appearing. Bliss.

Don't wish anyone ill but I hope Bednar makes a very slow recovery. I'd rather see Waggy given a chance again, interacting with Vassell, Kingy and Gally pushing forward.

Starting to believe we're in contention.

'Citin.

I took a group of kids who have never been to a live match before. They f***ing loved it!

My main point: Vassell looks a completely different player when played up top. His movement and ball control is excellent and opened up holes in their defence all second half. This is his position at this level!

Bedner: On what I've seen can go back to WBA I'd rather have Howard, he can't hold up play, his passing is terrible and his movement is slow and laboured.

Naughton and Cunningham, absolute quality. What a sweet left peg Cunningham has. And when you think how young they both are

And Abe is different gravy. Gave away one ball all afternoon. His reading of the game and tidying up behind midfield and in front of defence is a pleasure to watch. And every aspiring midfielder should watch his play and in particular the discipline he shows in his play is just top Class.

All in all and bar a few mad moments it was an absolute pleasure to watch today.

I was not happy with our first half performance. We looked vulnerable at the back and ineffective up front. Bringing on Dyer for Bednar greatly improved our attack.
Those peolple who pushed past me around the 40th minute on the grounds that the concourse was more important than the match missed the penalty which pleased me.

The second half we were excellent.
I don't know if everyone noticed but Waghorn was about to come on when Vassall scored and he was told to sit down again to his understandable frustration. I was very pleased that he scored when he was eventually brought on.

The guy clearly needs game time and may prove to be a valuable addition. At some point in the future there will be a team that sits back and frustrates us and the direct ball to Bednar's head will be required (though Howard is also capable of this).

Naughton and Cunningham, absolute quality. What a sweet left peg Cunningham has. And when you think how young they both are. Agree completely. For me the change of full-backs has been the the most effective change since Sven took over. We now attack in numbers and with pace.

And Abe is different gravy. Gave away one ball all afternoon. His reading of the game and tidying up behind midfield and in front of defence is a pleasure to watch. And every aspiring midfielder should watch his play and in particular the discipline he shows in his play is just top Class. I agree. He won't get many mom's but his contribution is massive. He gets a foot in here and there, tracks runners superbly, covers miles and can pass a short ball superbly. Incidently, he gave the ball away twice in the second half!! I'll let him off though!

All in all and bar a few mad moments it was an absolute pleasure to watch today. They didn't have any meaningful shots on target in second half but I thought they had a few opportunities to pull the trigger earlier which might have seen us concede.

Waggy started stripping off before the Naughton goal making me think oh good he's getting more than a ten minute cameo - then it all kicked off and we not only had the two goals, but lots of uninterrupted play plus a couple of Donny corners - replaced Gally in the end - thought he'd blown it when he muffed a great chance with a clumsy first touch. But the goal will do him good - he provided the assist for Kingy's shot against the post, then thumped in the rebound.

Bringing on Dyer for Bednar greatly improved our attack.

It's a relief to see that someone else thinks this. For me, the starting line up against Ipswich (which will be my first away game this season) should be the same as today, except that Dyer should start in place of Bednar.

I think having Gallgher, Vassell, and Dyer all attacking at the same time can be a really dangerous combination, and I'm sure the management will identify that. After all, we don't normally score four goals in one half.

Our boys have checked into a hotel in Marble Arch in London tonight for some capital based frivolity. I am at the same hotel and congratulated them on the great game today

Excellent second half performance. Live on Swedish TV as well!

We're on next week again against Ipswich. City getting lots of media attention over here because of Svennis and my kids don't have to explain who Leicester are at school any more!

Bednar is shite though isn't he?

Pretty much sums up my thoughts.
I'd add a mention for Dyer, whom I thought brought additional pace and roamed dangerously.
It won't always be like that, but moving Vassell central gave us more options in general.
And 5-1 on me coupon was an added bonus. Happy days!

According to BBC stats, we had 6 shots on target yesterday! and Donny only had one. Typical they scored from it....

What is becoming clear though, is that we are becoming a pretty formidable side at home. The away form is just what is missing, where we are clearly inconsistent. Sort that out and we'll be laughing. Still think we are going to struggle to make the top 6 though, as it is going to require one hell of a run

its a tough ask, but were easily capable of a 4 or 5 winning streak were doing ok, at the moment just picking off our rivals one by one (thats donny and trees below us), next targets millwall and leeds

I don't think it will require the kind of run this season that perhaps it would have last, there are no run away sides (yet) and the top half are as inconsistent as the bottom, just look at Cardiff's form.
