Allen can sit in the dugout with a pair of pants on his head and two pencils up his nose for all I care.

He's a bit Aidy Boothroyd, but seems very committed and very single minded and despite misgivings or lack of info about a few of our signings, we are undoubtedly on the verge of having a significantly better squad than last year. Clemence, Mcleod and Hendrie would obviously make this even better.

If we end up with A midfield chosen from Newton, Kaebi, Kishishev, Clemence, Weso, Hendrie and Porter, we won't need a tactical genius to ensure that we play more attractive football than we have done for 3 years.

Even if we don't add any more strikers. our current lot will still have more to work with than they have done for some time.

There are obviously shortcomings in certain areas. But rome wasn't built in a day. and some major steps have already been taken. It seems that the money transfers are on the way, and when/if they happen the sense of optimism will be well founded.

Fingers crossed
And if Milan can offer Robbie Fowler enough money to come down to Leicester. He will be the closest thing to God any of us will ever have seen

I've seen Alex Del Piero

The thing is this. I know where HF is coming from, we've all had our fare share of false dawns at this club, especially of late.

However, in Martin Allen's defence - I truly appreciate the contact he is having with the fans, it's far better than what we have had of late. I like the 'no-nonsense' attitude of him, shown again today in the 1-year contract doled out to Newts.

A ball is yet to be kicked, a squad not even finished assembling, so of course it's early doors to say too much. But, for now, I love it. Fact.

that about sums it up for me....im not hanging on every word that ma says it is a results business and thats what we should be judging him on imo

After catching up on reading this thread I can not believe some of the generalisations made about fellow posters.

It seems the bottom line is -

Anyone showing any doubts about MA, his methods, signings and the forthcoming season should have their negative bodies burnt at the stake or nipples twisted until they take it back.

Anyone getting behind what MA and MM are trying to do and finding positives in the situation are a bunch of dim-witted, not right, thick tw*ts.

.....and there is no room in the middle.

Bring on the football FFS or there will no one left.

Good afternoon,

Today we have completed two days training. The players have been put through their paces. It has been very intense, hard work requiring discipline, concentration and focus. I am pleased to say that we have had no rebellions - no dissent. I have enjoyed watching some of the characters really pull their way. I have pushed and prodded to train and work harder.

Tomorrow (Wednesday), we have two games at the training ground. The first one, kicking off at 11am, is against Kettering Town. We are playing three 30 minutes halves, if you know what I mean. The second game is at 2pm, and again there will be three thirty minute periods or halves, if you know what I'm saying.

It will give me the opportunity to watch everybody in the club play 45 minutes. However, I must tell you that tomorrow the training ground will be closed to all members of the public. If it was allowed to be open we could have hundreds or even thousands of people at the training ground, which we just cannot physically cater for. Our safety officer has informed us that is must be behind closed doors, and therefore it will be closed to everybody. I hope you all understand the decision and the reason why we are having to make that choice.

I will update all supporters about how the games have gone tomorrow evening after the game.

At this moment in time we have picked up no injuries and everyone is looking fit and well. They are hungry, which is good news.

Best wishes,

Martin
