I would imagine he would make his choice based on a number of issues :

1) Financial package

2) Playing Prospects

3) Career Development

4) The clubs outlook and ambition

5) The manager

Based on the fact Sunderland are 'officially' managerless I cannot really see them as a viable option to McAuley.

Also Sunderland's future ownership is unclear with the Quinn bid which seems to have gone very quiet.

Our contacts at the Lincoln Trust believe McAuley would be a success at a higher level

I saw a bloke wearing a Lincoln shirt in Sapcote Co-Op a number of months ago when we first heard about the interest in McCauley.I initiated a conversation with him and it turns out he was a season ticket holder there. He hadn't heard of the rumour at the time but in his opinion he would be a success at a higher level. However in his opinion that higher level was in League division 1 and not the Championship. Its all about opinions...

NI play tonight then i suppose he will be back in the UK over the weekend, maybe Breen has talked him out of a move to Sunderland!

As he is 26 yo he is probably married and settled in the Lincoln area which i think would be a major factor in his decision ie to come to us.

I'm still not convinced we need another defender. I'd much rather bolster the midfield and the attack.

Touch wood but if anything happened to Hume or Fratt we would be very short up front.

o'grady and MDV :102: are there back up at the min but know what your saying

MDV doesn't want to be here, it has been so blatent and obvious since his lover who always ALWAYS picked him left.

There is a lot of sympathy for big MDV, but not from me. Sorry, its just the way I feel. THere is sod all point in having a striker who is frightened to shoot.

O'grady has promise, but I still think we need something more.

O'grady isn't up to it

De Vries is still capable of 10/15 goals a season if he plays regularly. I'd much rather have him coming* off the bench than O'Grady.

more to the point, who would you rather see start a match if Fryatt or Hume are injured?

Not sure we can be so sure O'Grady isn't ready. I guess Hammond ... if only for that tight little arse?

Can you please try and concentrate on the Football side of things Alex...:icon_roll

So how long did this conversation last? Any other features that seemed interesting in the mans: Appearance, Approach, Conversational skills?
