I apologise, I thought that we were discussing these people's aptitude for their footballing responsibilities. I know neither personally but, perhaps naively, believe both to be honourable gents doing their best.
No worries.....:056:

I'm not sorry he is gone at all either.

I Also worry the effect this will have on our ability to sign a good manager, good players, and how it will effect the squad.

Definitely.

There is a high price to pay.

A great deal of money has been spent (mainly in wages) in bringing in loads of new players. Quite a proportion of whom looked mistakes before they had crossed the threshold e.g. the dodgy keeper; the Dutch amateur etc etc.

It doesn't matter whether it was Milan or Allen or whoever that brought them in - it will still curtail the spending of the new manager/ and Milan of course.

It will be amazing if results don't suffer in the short term. Still Milan has shown his mettle by going with his judgement.

I can't believe you said that! How did the word 'honourable' creep in under the wire? Sheesh!
Nothing's 'honourable' in football, except most of us fans, who are continually milked dry of money, emotion, hope, and tears.
Everything else is spin, sham, ego, and business.

I will support Milan in this, He knows better than any of us what has happened and how well (or not as it seems) Allen was managing the club.

I Do not believe he has made a bad decision, (I have no reason to) but there will be consequenses, which i hope will not hinder our chances of pushing for promotion this year. In the long term, well i'm sure all of this will be forgotten soon enough and Milan will reach his goal.

I Would prefer all this had not happened, but it has, now we have to deal with it.

A MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRMAN
Posted on: Fri 31 Aug 2007

Let me make one thing perfectly clear those unfortunate circumstances bore no relation to the subsequent departure of Martin Allen and his coaching staff the following day.

My only regret is that I didn't act before Wednesday. I gave serious thought to taking the decision on Sunday and with the benefit of hindsight I wish I had.

I have maintained throughout my brief tenure at the club that unity and trust must prevail. Everything becomes pointless without it.

I have asked for one thing from the supporters, trust. And in trying and difficult times I implore you to back my judgment move on and get right behind the team.

Without prevailing unity this club cannot function so it's imperative we stand together and work toward our goal of promotion this season.

Milan Mandaric

Well I at least am pleased that Milan has at least told us what he thinks he can/wants to and am not too pedantic to dismiss it/him due to imperfect grammar.

I think he has laid to rest the rumours that something went off on Tues which meant that MA had to go, he also seems to have made up his mind immediately after the Watford game which would suggest that it is not an on the field football issue.

His repetition of the words trust and unity indicate to me that he feels MA was not displaying these qualities, suggesting that MA was trying to run his own show. Though MM can probably be rightly criticsed for interference in the manager's job, it is at the end of the day his club and his job to set the vision and strategy for the club. The manager's job is to implement this strategy and run the club on a day to day basis. If MA was going off at a tangent and ignoring MM then he only has himself to blame. If he thought that the plan he was being asked to implement was totally unworkable then he should have resigned. Maybe he needs to learn that to get your own plans adopted, you have to make your boss think that they were his in the first place! Perhaps he also needs to learn that whether the plan is yours or your boss's, if it goes wrong then your job is to carry the can!

On reflection I am not too disappointed to see MA gone as I only ever thought that he was good enough to see us stabilised in this division, he has never struck me as a Premiership manager and we need somebody who can take us up and keep us there. Who that is I have no feckin' idea.

he didnt make a mistake in taking him on if he met all the criteria of what the new manager was to be.
A while after taking him on, they then realised they could not work together, thats a different story

That's fair enough. But to be handed all the accolades of 'a man big enough to admit his mistakes, etc.etc.' I kinda thought admitting the mistakes might be necessary.

Milan's statement is straight from the Rules of Hazz Grammar, I understood every word of it.

He's just clarifying that it's not a football decision and anyone what was convinced Allen was a great manager and tried defending him on his brief record, your argument is irrelevant. They obiviously upset each other - and not all probelms were with the non-signings of players.

I think MM would do well to shut his absurdly wide mouth and get on with replacing the man who'd replaced the man who'd replaced the man. All inside 4 months. Yes Milan, you're someone I really feel like trusting!

If MM has nothing he wants to hide, why have a confidentiality agreement? If MA was a psycho who had to be sacked, why not say so?

From MA's perspective, keeping quiet makes sense for financial reasons.

But from MM's perspective, if MA did wrong he could use that to avoid/limit compensation. There is no need for confidentiality. RK didn't sign one. Most managers/chairman don't sign them.

I've supported MM thus far mainly because he was our only viable alternative. But I cannot comprehend someone appointing a manager who did things here exactly how he'd done them at Brentford/MK Dons, and then firing him for it. I cannot comprehend a chairman allegedly bringing in inferior players and demanding they get picked. I cannot comprehend someone hiring and firing staff without seemingly having a clue about them.

How can you trust him without deluding yourselves about what's staring you in the face? The man is behaving in a demented and incompetant way. I have no attachment to MA, but I do have one to LCFC. Someone is fecking with something that I care about, and far too many people seem happy to let him.

Anybody who wants to hide behind a confidentiality agreement doesn't make it public that one is in place.

You only make it public that one is in place if you are being silenced by it.

have you not considered that MA could have done something that was very damaging to the clubs image, and something that is on going and can't be mentioned unless legal proceedings are taken? as peasants we hear feck all, but so many have taken the side of the guy who has left, not too many for the bloke who is in charge....which MM is, we all knew he was going to be top dog, the time for complaing should have been before now. instead we all w***ed ourselves silly about him being a saviour, but deep down we all knew he would want total control. why has everyone ignored this recently? FFS!!!

But didn't MA say he couldn't add anything else for legal reasons before MM said about this confidentiality clause?

Whatever it is for, I think ultimately its cos two blokes let their egos rules their brains. Makes a change from blokes letting their dicks rules their brains though
Saying that, I think most men's brains are in their.....

I think I have to agree.

the late signing is a player I don't think Allen would have brought in.
