as a squad replacement for Inler he would be ok, i doubt he would jump straight into the team. DeJong is one of them players you would sooner have in your team than against you. Pre Kante i was always in favour of a "Wasyl like " hard midfielder, but Kante is irreplaceable imo

The Mirror reckons Arsenal are looking for Steve Walsh as their new scout.

I'm not entirely sure how scouting works but surely Arsenal display more of an attractive proposition? Unless im completely wrong...

Sideways step these days :)

You seem to have had some idea of his happiness in the local area before, I wondered if you knew anything about this?

What I know is that he's very happy in his job and is on one hell of a big bonus if he stays until the end of the season. I can't see him leaving before then unless there is a extraordinary offer to him.

I think our chances of retaining him long term would have been better served by us offering him a long term deal as Director of Recruitment back in the summer. Effectively, a promotion and security irrespective of who the manager is.

The thing about his role with us is that it enables him to do everything that he likes doing. He's on the training ground, working with scouts and travelling the world. Arsenal wouldn't offer the same thing but they would give him access to running a scouting network that is on a different scale to our own.

Maybe he'll decide on a new challenge but he's 58/59 and settled so it might not appeal to him at all.
